Oatmeal for sure![]()
I eat oatmeal with an egg in it.
yeah, I eat eggs or cottage cheese, and oatmeal for breakfast alot.
Cottage cheese is really good for you and has a lot of protein.
But remember, easy on the branflakes![]()
i eat weet bix every morning with either cut up fruit or honey depending on time constraints. A good low GI way to start your morning.
I usually make Quinoa with barley grits and brown rice, just buy the stuff bulk from an organic wholefood store closeby. Tastes like shit. I usually make the stuff the night before as I edd egg whites(or sometimes whey) with cinnamon, blueberries and a little honey just to make it bearablePlain yogurt's good to add to cereal, just a bit. Not many packaged cereals are going to be really any good for you... Plain oatmeal is by far the best of those you mentioned, that's what I'll eat if I'm not organized, just add a scoop of whey and some blueberries and I'm off.. Always best to go organic with most foods. Make sure you're getting some good fatty acids as well. Flax seed is easy to add to cereals, or even better just take a good fish oil or CLA(I take both before I eat breakfast every morning). It's also very helpful to eat some green's with breakfast, as they help to slow the absorbtion of carbs, giving you even more sustained energy than a good balanced breakfast on it's own. I know it's really hard to think about eating vegetables first thing with cereal, but it really is a good idea. try drinking Green(or white) tea instead of coffee, as well. Basically, I just take the mind over matter approach.. I start work early enough where I really don't care what my breakfast tastes like.. I wake up, take the dog for a little run, stretch, eat an orange or some other piece of fruit, hop in the shower, mow down my breakfast then I'm off.. I'm at the point where I can't really not eat a good balanced breakfast as my work is physical and I won't eat again for at least 3 hrs... The fact that it tastes bad is nothing compared to how sluggish I feel if I just eat a bowl of cereal or something..It's almost weird as I used to do that all the time and didn't have low energy levels... But I wasn't as active outside of work then, and I guess I've become acustomed to getting certain nutrients first thing.
It depends on what your goal is.
Mostly tho....what p4pking said.
Specially the part of adding whey and berries to oatmeal as you get the protein and antioxidants required for your body.
Personally at the minute i'm cutting so for me i leave the house on an empty stomach.....5 days a week.
That's because my walk to work takes around 30 mins if i take a brisk walk. Brisk walking on an empty stomach is very effective for losing bodyfat whilst sparing muscle tissue.
Anything more than brisk walking will lead to catabolism (depending on your current level of bodyfat). Once i'm at work i take in a protein shake and eat a banana before taking on my diet for the rest of the day.
Uncle Tobys Fibre Plus with a table spoon of powered glucosamine and a table spoon of flaxseed oil plus extra fruit and soy milk. Yum![]()
lucky charms.
Three breakfast I use religiously....
1) The daily
Porridge oats with Skimmed milk, Cane sugar on top.
Accompanied by a piece of fruit, two fish oil capsules, a multivitamin and a vitamin C capsule.
2) The morning of a weigh or Sunday
Bananas, Apples, mandarins, kiwis, blueberries and strawberries, maybe with cream if my weight is good.....Supplements then
3) The morning of a Fight or large gym session.
2-3 Scrambled eggs made with Full Fat milk, Flora Sunflower spread and crushed black pepper. Two slices of Whole grain toast or a whole grain Bagle and my supplements.....Energy on demand!

What about if you are traveling abroad in another country for a week or two and in a hotel ?
Anyone care to jump in? i live in hotels from business travels. the outside looks good but I want to make sure my insides are as good... I now have low energy levels for work for the 1st time in my life and It is freaking me out. (Sex drive is still insane, whew !)
