    Default Maximuscle Promax Extreme

Anybody else on here using the above protein drink?? I have just bought a tub and decided to give it a go.

I have a couple of questions from guys who are or have used it.

    1. Did you gain weight from using it? I DO NOT want to add size, weight or bulk, due to my fight weight restrictions....mainly want it as a repair and recovery drink.

    2. Did it improve recovery times between sessions??

    Thanks all

Whey is an anabolic protein pre/post exercise because of its fast digestion and amino acid profile - but that doesn't necessarily mean you'll gain muscle mass. To be worried about gaining significant muscle, you'd typically need to consume a larger calorie load and be lifting specifically for muscle growth - which I'm assuming you're not. Protein is needed for muscle growth and whey is a good nutrient, but in the absence of these other variables you shouldn't have much to worry about. However, Promax Extreme does contain creatine which could in theory increase intramuscular water levels (it won't do this in everyone but if it does, just stop taking it and switch to a product with no creatine, such as plain promax). So - yes, promax extreme/promax should help your muscle recovery without bulk, due to simply increasing the rate of muscle repair. You will probably get better recovery however, by also consuming some carbs post workout (either a couple of big bananas with the whey or a specialist whey & carb drink. You're probably worried about gaining weight from this also, but again although this is the nutrition used by bodybuilders, it's also the same one used by serious marathon runners etc to enhance recovery. Your best best is to try the different options and closely monitor your recovery levels and weight. Cheers - hope this helped.

Whirlwind - thanks for that mate - as for the creatine content, are you sure it contains it? Ive looked at the ingredients and descripotion etc and there is no mention of creatine.

Hi - yep it has 5g per day (3 scoops). If you want no creatine get the regular Promax which is pure whey.

    This is relatively
a small creatine dosage however, so it may just help energy and recovery. I don't put on any water weight with creatine but think I may be a non responder. Just try it out.

    Promax Extreme Key Ingredients

    • Contains 72g* of whey protein per daily serving (82% whey protein content)
    • 200mg n-acetyl-cysteine (NAC)
    • 200µg chromium polynicotinate
    • 5g glutamine
    • 300mg methoxyflavone
    • 5g creatine monohydrate
    • 100mg taurine
