Yes he's limited in the same way as oleg maskaev is limited but he still gave Sam Peter plenty to think about in their fight and rattled him.
It's by NO MEANS a gimme fight for Manny and IS a stern test for a first move up to an unknown weight class.
Not sure why people hate on him so much or this fight, but if Manny is serious about a new career at 135 he needs a decent test but not to go straight to the best man in the division.
Diaz is the perfect choice imo. Has name recognition after a win over Morales, plus he's a legitimate belt holder.
It's Manny's first fight at 135, seriously what do you guys want?
Bilbo, I'm not bagging on Pac, but the fight isn't worth getting excited about. I know why Pac is taking the fight, but just don't see why people suddenly think Diaz is so good.
It's not that I think Diaz is so good, but he's an honest brawler who will put on an exciting fight.
Do you think a fight between the two would be boring? I can ASSURE you it wouldn't be! Diaz only knows how to come forward, as obviously does Pac, it would be a brutal all action fight.
Pac would be heavily favoured but Diaz is the naturally much bigger man and we saw just a couple weeks ago with juan Diaz that if a bigger guy can stand up to a brawlers attacks then they can make it into a nightmare.
Pacquaio has come up from much lower weights so at some point there will be a point where his power doesn't carry. I personally don't believe he's been as devastating at superfeather as he was at the lower weights, and at the same time he has shown vulnurabilities, especially at the weekend.
I can practically guarantee that if this fight did happen, once it was underway loads of people on here would be posting 'wow that was a great fight! I really didn't expect that!.
I'm actually looking forward to seeing this fight, it begins an exciting new chapter for Pacquaio at a new weight class and will be an all action brawl whilst it lasts.
If he was choosing to fight Zahir Raheem I'd agree it could be a really dull fight but Diaz at the very least guarantees action.
This reminds me in some ways of the Cotto Gomez fight. yes Cotto should win and win convincingly but Gomez has bags of heart, a good chin and a great human interest story. I'm excited for that fight and I'd be excited for Pacquiao and David Diaz too.
