C'MON GUYS!!! Marquez VS Pacquiao!!!

To be completely honest with you all, I avoided coming on this forum close to date of last night's Marquez vs Pacquiao fight. I have been WAY TOO excited for this fight since they signed it. Knowing how much pride and blinding faith people in here have for both Pacquiao AND Marquez, it would've just added unecessary arguments for a highly anticipated fight and for some reason, that would've bothered me.

They way people in here act right before a big fight and directly after the fight is reminiscent of two elementary school boys arguing over who has the nicest toys back home.

I thought it was a great fight. I had Pac winning as well but ONLY because of the knockdown. If Marquez never went down, I would've had him winning by a point.

All-in-all, everyone should've just enjoyed the fight. Marquez fans are disgusted, Pacquiao fans are ecstatic. THAT'S BOXING! If we're all supposed "fight fans" then that means we should all know how the game is played. The decision is made, people have their opinions, live to see another day.

I just also want to point out, I'm a fan of both Marquez and Pacquiao and hearing everyone back their fighter and not many giving the other man their credit is just plain ignorance. It could've gone either way. Marquez could've won if he didn't get knocked down, but he did infact get knocked down. Pacquiao could've also lost cause Marquez landed more often. Comp-u-box had Marquez statistically better than Pacquiao, but by a small margin. Pacquiao's knockdown negated the statistical advantage for Marquez though.

We need to all calm down and just realize they put on a great show. Everyone complains about how boring fights are now-a-days, but this one sure wasn't! EVERYONE needs to get off their own personal tunnel-vision and look at the big picture. Pacquiao is a fight fan's dream and is AMAZING for boxing, Marquez is one of the craftiest, savvy fighters EVER, both men are GREAT, LEAVE IT AT THAT! Debate who won, but leave it at debating. Personal attacks and all this other crap that goes beyond intelligence and seeing a fight "in the eyes of a fan" and not with "neutral eyes" kills this forum in my opinion.

I enjoy the living hell out of this forum in-between fights cause no one is posting on emotions and are thinking level-headedly. Talk about this fight a while from now when all the smoke is cleared and then it will turn into a good discussion. I know what I'm saying won't change anything around here, but I needed to go on a rant because what I saw here left a bad taste in my mouth.

its the big fight syndrome it happens most sundays around big fights a few bans and moved threads usually sorts it out

I guess its part and parcel of being passionate about this sport.

my personal view on this fight was its was a classic with both boxers putting on an outstanding preformance.

round one showed that Marquez was fighting a very sensible fight with the batter gameplan... fighting at range and body shots was his way to beat pac but then manny's power came into play....

when the final bell went i wouldn't have given anyone an argument no matter what way it would have went....

just enjoyed watching the event hats off to both fighters

Much pride got shaken up from last night's fight. It made a few posters angry and made them post stuff I am sure they will regret when they calm down.

-Marquez fans felt cheated after their man fought his heart out to see what they felt was a decision taken from him.

-Pacquiao fans felt vindicated after their man fought his heart out and felt his win was being attacked.

Some from both sides were so up in arms that they reduced the forums into a place that I am not used to seeing. It turned into a name calling fest full of personal attacks. Myself and probably a few others would not even post our thoughts because of it.

It is a shame that a great fight got so watered down.

Great fight.Two of the best talents in the sport today and deserve honest accolades regardless of who we pulled for.
