Default frist fight fall hopefull. Asking for some help

hey everyone i was wondering. im hopfully having a fight this fall (october-november) and i was wonder what more can i do to get ready? I go to the gym 2-3 times a week not including boxing where i run for 22-28 mins 5miles for 3mins 2 for 1min and them i work the legs back and chest and abs and also arms. and i usually do a lot of biking. also at my house i do bag work shadow boxing and jumpropeing, and i also do speed bag. if you want a more indepth work out youll have to give me a week and ill write down the whole ruten for that week. but im traing hard and am looking forward to this fight as it will be my frist. my trainer gave me a list of things to acomplish before i can get in a ring they are 500 squats (body weight) in a row drop and do 100 crunches roll over 100 pushups and then 40 pull ups. as of now im at 500 squats (i made a bet with him that if i could go frome 150 in a row to 500 in a row hell buy me gloves i won it) 100 crunches and 45 pushups. so any help would be great thanks all

your workout seems all fine and dandy man.
however, its not us you should be asking, its your trainer. your trainer is going to know more about you, your strengths and weaknesses than we can sitting behind our computer.

ask what you can be doing to get ready, if he feels what your doing is enough, then listen to him, you need to build up your bodies reserves for a fight!

ive got one in october aswell, gonna be my 19th fight to date, and the hardest yet

There is something here that I am not following. When you say your trainer gave you a list, is this your boxing trainer? How many times do you go to the boxing gym in a week? What kind of fight are you going to have? Has your boxing trainer said anything about it? The reason I wonder is that you can do millions of squats, pushups by the thousand, but if you can't fight it just means you'll take aprolonged beating. Are you doing work on throwing punches and defending against thrown punches? Do you do slip and counter drills? Sparring? I don't mean to be sarcastic at your expense, and I wish you the best in this and all upcoming bouts, but if I were trying to get ready for an upcoming fight, and serious about it , I'd be in the gym every night working hard to learn boxing and practicing boxing.

I won't offer my physical advice because theres enough of that around here to fill books, but I will give you some mental advice(there's probably enough of that too but oh well). If you lose don't get down, the first fights are always experience, everyone loses atleast few amateur matches. To me 0-5 shows more of a man than 2-0 or something of the sort. Good luck and enjoy the experience(i was a nervous wreck for my first few and it drained me before the fights even started).

greynotsoold i can only afford to go once a week to boxing but we pratice throwing proper punches and defending and sliping everything you talked about i wish i could go more but can't afford it, so i pratice on my speed bag and heavy bag and shadow box every day and i go to the gym boxing is through every other day. and yes my boxing trainer gave me a list to work for for physical things just for motivation (and to help prepair for fighting) i havn't been able to spar yet because im the only boxer at my gym and its hard finding a partner, so i hope this answered your questions, and next time try not to be a dick about them man, cuz i've been traing harder then hell for the past 4 monthes and will be for another 5 for this frist fight so lets be suportive. Thanks Omega and alex w and to you to greynotsoold for that little bit about wishing me the best

I apologize for my tone in that post. Cpuld I earn my way back into good graces with a couple combinations that you might find worthwhile? Jack Dempsey made these famous in the 20s, and both are based off of slipping the opponent"s jab. The first is the "inside triple": to begin slip inside the opponent's jab (so it goes over your right shoulder; put weight on left leg , swing right side forward exactly like throwing a right)with a straight right to the heart. Step sideways w/rght foot, bringing it up even w/the left; at the same time shift the weight over the right leg :this step gives you more power, and if you stay low shifting the wght to rght leg will carry you under the left lead and outside of it as you hook to the solar plexus. The body is then straightened , weight shifted to the left leg and cross the right to the opponents chin. The action here has to be fast and continuous, so I would suggest starting slow and feeling the weight shifts because once you find those its easy. "Outside Triple"; begin by slipping outside his jab and hooking the left to the stomach ( the way to slip outside is to throw a left hook-this one happens to be a touch wide and to the belly.) Weight should be on the right leg so step in and to the left with the left foot, the weight transfer carrying your body under the lead as you hook the right to the heart. From here straighten the body lifting the left (which should've been carried high to protect you head from his right) (don't need to draw it back or swing your arm , just wght to rght leg torque hips) to his chin. Aggain the movement must be fast and don't forget to practice getting out after you punch- don't just walk or stop or you'll do it in real.
