Default what would have happened if Calzaghe had stood back also?

Hopkins was so negative and it was pretty effective. I was employing Calzaghe to stand back and do what Hopkins did.
    Just a thought.

This signiture is up as ante in a 'sig-bet'. Wanna bet anyone?

Calzaghe beat Hopkins the only way you can. You've gotta bring it to him and outwork him.

God help the world if Calzaghe chose to sit back and play chess BHop style!!

It wasnt Joe's best performance but he got the job done well enough. He went out of his comfort zone and beat Hopkins more convincingly than anyone else has.

Im just thinking it would show Hopkins to be the negative fighter he is.

If Joe could have drawn Hopkins on then Joe would have had far more success!

Lets face it, Calzaghie couldnt stop it being a Hopkins type of fight.

Flopkins wasn't interested in fighting Joe, he showed more concern for just trying to keep out of Joe's way and randomly landing big gun slinger shots,

And failing that, plan B for Flopkins worked ok too, the if the gun slinger shot misses,

Then hey ho, lets fall in with the head, can't miss the chance while Joe C will allow, even letting me perpetually butt my way thru,

No no, not Joe C as in Calzaghe, the other one, Firm but NOT fair Joe Cortez,

Simply put if Joe Calzaghe hadn't stepped forward all night, there would have been no bout ...

Flop woulda stood there still trying to look across at Joe with a mean executioner expression .... and ... thats it,

Joe could then have got his head down for a kip...

Because B.Flop for sure wouldn't have stepped forward to disturb him...

    In his own way, yes.

This is a different version of BHop. He is older but knows all the tricks of the trade and we all know how he can be defensively. The Hopkins against Jones Jr. was more straight ahead brawler. Calzaghe was able to hit Hopkins significantly more than Jones Jr. did and this against a Hopkins who usually doesnt allow himself to be hit as much.

Calzaghe didnt dominate but he won convincingly. It was a flawed Calzaghe performance but even a flawed Calzaghe is heads and shoulders above anyone else out there. Even Hopkins didnt have too many ideas down the stretch.

If that would have happened we would have had the world's most boring fight.

Jones had a broken right hand and still beat Hopkins 9-3.
