Default Any way/programmes to block inappropriate images?

My little cousins come around somtimes and use my PC. Sometimes images show up on random sites like torrent ites and my cousins are only 12-15,it's not really appropriate for them to see that kind of thing. Are there any programmes to block these images or which let me control them or something? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Well if you have Firefox and there are specific sites they go on that have these images, most of the time they are hosted by a singular site and if you right click and choose block images from whatever site it is then you can go about it that way. Other then that, I don't know.

I think it'll be pretty hard to do... Some programs are pretty advanced and can pick up keywords in porn sites etc and are able to block 99% of adult content in some way...

But some very ordinary sites have some pretty raunchy advertising these days, and I think it would be very hard for the programs to pick that up...

It's a messy world that our kids are growing up into these days...

I think i'll pull my hair out when my daughter gets to the ages of 14 or 15, and her favourite websites are facebook etc etc.. I know what girls get up to on there!!

Bro, do you have Kaspersky as antivirus? You can prevent incoming sites from popping by activating its pro-active defense. You can also temporary block your internet connection through kaspersky.

Just ask me how to do it when you have your kaspersky already.

It's not pop up I want to block Bruce bro,it's images like naked women in ads at the top of sites or dirt vids being played at the side, and it's on torrent sites and lots of other sites too. Also, is there a way I can permanently block dirty sites? Sometimes,if you click on a link,it takes you somewhere you didn't think you would be going!!

So,anyhting which blocks images and anything which blocks sites. Please help,it's important!

Gamo type 'bluecoat K9' into google and download and install that.

It's a completely free net nanny that allows you not only to specify what sites to block and allow but also allows you to set time limits for internet access.

It won't work on 64 bit operating systems but almost certainly you will have either 32 bit Windows XP or Vista anyway so it will be fine.

    You're welcome.

I was going to suggest asking you..

I figured in your search to get your internet addiction under control, chances are you'd come across a program or 2 that will also help with your porn addiction..

So did you figure out a way to set the program up so even YOU can't get onto the internet?? I don't think you've been around as much as usual so i'm guessing so

Yeah I've managed to pretty much solve my problems. I had to purchase Net Nanny 5 for my desktop as I use Vista Ultimate x64 and it's not compatible with K9 but I've installed K9 on my laptop as I have 32 bit xp and it works fine. It will work fine with 32 bit Vista also so will be fine for Gamo.

Unfortunately I also have a PDA and am now logging on to the net with that. The good news however is that with a tiny 4 inch screen and having to write everything with a stylus, it's far too tedious to stay on for long so I'm pretty much offline outside of my allowed hours now.
