Default Rios' antics go beyond boxing, good taste

Sometimes a line can be crossed, even in the world of boxing. Personally I believe that line has now been crossed twice by Brandon Rios.
First, for the uninformed, Brandon Rios is the exciting, undefeated WBA lightweight titlist who is set to defend his belt on July 9thagainst number 8 ranked Urbano Antillon.. Ring magazine currently has Rios ranked number one in the world behind world champion Juan Manuel Marquez.
Rios’ fan friendly, take no prisoners style is very pleasing to the eye. He gives a hundred percent and is always just a punch away from turning a fight in his favor.

Crossing the line because he mocks Antillons lisp? Give me a fucking break.

The Freddie Roach incident was a while ago. He's apologised, move on.

    I like him.

Ive seen much worse but I do understand where the TO is coming from.. There are ways to trash talk an opponent but Rios' antics are very childish and not very funny.. Making fun of someone's lisp is pretty juvenile and the only people who were amused by it were his immediate friends and family members. Plus, the way he says fuck fuck fuck in every sentence makes him look very low class and that sure aint getting inside anybody's head.. I dont think Antillon is bothered by any of it.. Rios is just wasting his breath for nothing and making a fool out of himself..

This is coming from someone who's a big fan of Rios as a fighter.. I want him to win and he probably will win but he needs to shut his mouth because he's not helping his fanbase with all this bullshit...

    I gotta agree...
People need to stop having their panties rolled in a bunch and chillax with the sensativity.
For fucks sake, it's called hyping a fight. Selling tickets.

Fans booing a national anthem (Not the end of the world) but distasteful and low.
Hopkins throws the PR flag (Not the end of the world) but also pretty fucked up.

What Rios is doing is nothing more than what is known as "clowning" or talking shit or as the English mates call it "taking the piss"...

Making fun of Roach's parkinsons was trashy and classless and cowardly.

Other than that, Rios still hasn't reached Mayorga standards yet

Hes just running on in the lip like a yelping dog when the family car pulls up. Some guys find acting the ass just draws more attention and it helps if its natural to them. Which in his case I think it is. Personally I dont care for it, looks desperate and clownish but whateva.

I like his fighting style...or approach in the ring. Really he should enjoy the ride and he'll make a lot of noise while he lasts because it'll go as long as his punch resistance holds up.

I really rarely care how a fighter behaves outside the ring unless it affects his perfromance.

Rios is clearly a jerk. But so were Jack Blackburn and Sandy Saddler and Roberto Duran and Larry Holmes and Bobby Chacon and yet each of them brought me thrills in the ring.

Would I prefer that everyone be Alexis Arguello or Ray Mancini or Matthew Saad Muhammad? Sure. But that's not the way the world is.
Hidden Content Bring me the best and I will knock them out-Alexis Arguello
I'm not God, but I am something similar-Robert Duran

We 3 Kings are living in the Age of Kaliyuga, thats the way low-life boors talk now. Just compare Tyson : I'll eat your children, to Marciano: always respectful and well spoken.
