Default Just Watched Ricky Hatton vs Juan Lazcano.

I don't think Hatton was as bad as some people were making out Hatton did look sharp, especially throwing them double hooks to the body, his combinations were free flowing and it was a good performance IMO. Lazcano did hurt Hatton but again i think it was slightly overrated how bad he was hurt, i see the way he went back to his corner his legs were still fine and he still had all his faculties. But no doubt he was wobbled and could of gone down had he not been for the break.

I said before the fight that Lazcano would give Hatton some problems and he did, i think people seriously underrated Lazcano who is a good fighter despite not being at his best weight class and coming off a lay off. Hatton should for certain go after Paulie now, Paulie has looked crap in his last two fights and is there for the taking i think Hatton would out work Paulie and win a clear cut UD. Overall i think it was a good comeback fight for Hatton he went 12 tough rounds and didn't have it all his own way.

That will do Ricky the world of good going 12 competitive rounds that he needed.

I agree it was a good performance, He was hurt once or twice but besides that he basically dominated.

Both fighters come out of that deserving nothing more than praise.

It was your typical graftmanlike performance from hatton who from round 1 was clearly always going to be the aggressor and quite enjoyed lazcano fighting on the front foot as he was able to get back to his old self popping the jab and slipping out before going to the body.

Lazcano proved all the doubters wrong last night. Took some monsters from hatton and stayed on his feet the whole time, fought ricky at the centre of the ring like he promised he would do. And at certain times even dominated the best fighter in the division through sheer aggression and ability to get the best out of his reach advantage.

I just finished watching the fight. I thought Hatton looked pretty good considering he was coming off his first loss, a loss in which he was badly hurt and stopped. I didn't think Hatton was hurt that badly in the 8th and 10th rounds, after reading about it on here I thought it would've looked much worse than it did. Like Ice said, his legs seemed fine, he was buzzed and he might have gone down, but IMO he was nowhere near being stopped. The hook Lazcano hit Hatton with in the 10th looked an awful lot like the hook PBF stopped him with though. I thought Lazcano gave an excellent account of himself considering his age, inactivity, and the quality of his opposition.
One more thing, the VS announcers were fucking terrible. I'm not a huge Hatton fan, but they seemed a bit biased against him. They never really acknowledged when Hatton was hurting Lazcano and did little more than criticize him all fight, and when Hatton was rocked the blew it out of proportion IMO.
