For the record I think everybody should watch PBF vs JLC 1 with the sound off and ignoring Harold Lederman's stupid ass scorecard. He scored a round 9-9 when Castillo got a point deduction. Doesn't a 10 point must system mean somebody MUST score 10? So it should have been a 10-8 round for Floyd. Harold is a strawb. JLC did an awesome job of cutting off the ring though in that fight. Havn't seen anybody corner Floyd like that.
Anyway, back to the topic title. I think it's real simple..We will always score fights favourably for fighters that we are fans of simply because...They're our favourites!! Which means we enjoy watching them box and that we enjoy their style (Hence why they are our fave!) So when I'm seeing Mayweather doing his thing against Castillo, I'm scoring rounds for him because that's what I want to see. I like that style of fighting. When Pacquaio fans are scoring the fight in favour of the Pac Man against Marquez..it's because they LIKE his style and they like what they see! Hence, to them, Manny wins the round.
I guess it's the same for the judges..they score on what they personally like to see.
I hope i'm making sense here, it is obviously just a theory but it makes sense to me. How many Calzaghe fans had him winning against Hopkins yet how many Neutrals and Non-Calzaghe fans had Hopkins winning? Same with Ricky Hatton and Luis Collazo - As a neutral I thought Hatton nicked it by virtue of his early knockdown. Most thought he lost unless they were Hatton fans. There are lots of examples of this on these forums and everywhere.
