This morning at work I was driving a dumptruck, and I drove up to the fuel pumps to fill up. There are 3 pumps, one doesn't work, one puts gasoline in vehicles, and one puts diesel in vehicles. Well, when I got out to get the hose and nozzel, I THOUGHT I at the diesel pump (they are right beside each other). Well, I turn it on, and after pumping about 7 or 8 gallons in, I realize I had the wrong hose and that I've just put 8 gallons of gasoline in a truck that runs off diesel!!! Because there was still a good bit of diesel left in the tank, I was able to pull up to the shop where we drained the fuel tank. What makes it so bad is there was about 30 gallons of fuel already in there before I even put fuel in it.

I'm not so much pissed off as I am disappointed in myself for making such a STUPID mistake. It's not like I didn't know which type of fuel the truck ran off of, it was just I wasn't paying attention and grabbed the wrong fuel hose.

But I caught my mistake before any gasoline had the chance to run through the engine so, other than the fuel we had to drain, no harm was done. But shit soup! It was still stupid how I did that. Has anyone else ever done anything stupid like this that they're not proud of?
