Margaritto Hit Cotto When He was Down, If Cortez Was Reffing, Antonio Would Have Been Disqualified, Cotto Victory.

glad that shit didn't happen, could do without that crap again.
funny though I was thinking the same thing watching the replays last night, It wasn't much of a punch and he was commited to throwing it, had no effect on the fight, but nice stirring![]()
I heard the Spanish broadcast and Julio Cesar Chavez clearly said "Are you watching Joe Cortez"
It
I think if fighters take a knee they always leave themselves open to get his esp a delayed knee the fighter thowing shots is kind of left wondering.
no way should that of been a DQ.
It wasn't a big shot anyway.
I actually started screaming at Tony when he hit Cotto down on his knee. I looked at Bayless and thought "oh sh#t; what's he going to do?"
It was sort of ironic how Cotto took some low blows from Tony and kind of played to the ref after a couple of them. I couldn't help but think of how he did worse to Judah when they fought.
I can't even believe that anyone could even try to state some thing like this after the H. Soto embarrassment!
Please tell me you are joking, because if not, you are a HATER!!! And I never come on here to talk trash, but Margarito did everything he was supposed to, and that punch on the knee did nothing to Cotto. What's more, Margarito was in the middle of a punch when Cotto took the second knee, and he held himself back from punching before Bayless stepped in.
Give Marga his credit... you gave him all of the criticism when he looked less than spectacular (Clottey, Williams).
Check my post for the real deal...
dude get off of whatever you're smoking, goin by your judgement, Cotto should have lost to Judah
that was a nothing punch that antonio was commited t throwing as he was in full motion, the damage had already been done, a DQ for this would of been a travesty.
Amat...you serious here broThe difference is Cotto may have been battered up to that point but his grit instinct was to get up and go on.That would have been a atrocious call if Bayliss pulled a Cortez.I think Bayliss did an excellent job.
Both are way too honorable to want a polluted victory like that.
thank the good lord bayless was reffing when this happened and not somebody like nady or cortez who could of potentially panicked in the same situation.
In the heat of a fight when someones been hitting you for 11constant rounds and you see them on one knee your predatory instincts is to carry on fighting.
It was an offence but nothing that warranted a warning/point deduction etc because it was in the impact of the moment and wasnt hit with any sort of power that hurt cotto.
The only problem i have with bayless is him not jumping in the second cotto started walking backwards in a complete daze as a solid margarito shot could really of done some damage.
one dangerous horrible bloke
Cortez would've let the two fighters simmer while he talked to about 30 million people ringside to make his decision. Then 20 minutes later, he would've disqualified Margarito and deemed Cotto the winner.
Due to Cortez' reputation lately, it's hard to think that wouldn't have happened had he reffed the fight last night. Cortez should never see a big fight again..
