    Default Is Broner screwed?

The more fights that happen at 140 and 147 i think about the possible opponents and i honestly see him struggling with EVERYBODY at the top. Would love to see him with some notable guys, thoughts?

Him and Peterson are close but he would dominate Peterson, Danny vs Broner would be a good fight pretty close, he doesn't have to worry about JMM, Rios, Alvarado or Khabib. Lucas would beat him. Honestly he might not be a 147 pounder he's 5'6. Can he take shots from huge guys like Thurman, Berto, Maidana and now Eddie Gomez. However Broner has an out, take the Floyd fight, after he loses people won't demand all the hard fights and he can coast for a bit.

I can't stand Broner out of the ring, but I don't think he is screwed in the ring. He's a young guy with a lot of talent. It will be a long time before we know where he stands overall, but I'm thinking he will do very well.

How is he screwed? He gets 7 figures everytime he fights. Looks like hell get Maidana yet who is a credible opponent but is tailor made for Broner and if he wins that could very easily get a huge fight for 8 figures. If hes screwed we're all fooked.

Thurman or leave the division. He's got an optional first so we will see.

IMO Maidana is gonna put on a performance like he did against Khan, he's gonna pressure Broner worse than De Leon did only it's gonna be against a guy who is going to finally test that chin

I don't think he'll get a chance to pressure him. Broner in first 4 is my prediction. I think Broner hits a lot harder and more accurately then Khan. Maidana while trying to apply pressure leaves himself open and with not much head movement will not be hard for Broner to land.

Someone brought up last night that Broner may be exposed in the same way that Berto has been - but I don't think that's a fair comparison. Broner also doesn't move his feet a lot, so he is flat footed despite his speed. However, he moves his upper body much better than Berto and he counters much better after making people miss. I think that he has struggles with pressure fighters with speed, but I don't think that he really will be in trouble until he does get to the top of 147 - I don't think that he will struggle a lot against most of the top of 140, but I want to see him in with a banger with some boxing skills.

There are, as has been said, a lot of good fights out there. But, as also has been said, the dude gets huge paydays no matter who he fights. In my opinion, he will be another risk vs. reward fighter who takes the biggest payday for the least amount of risk rather than fan-friendly fights. I heard him say that he would let the public pick his next fight for him, but I don't believe it. We'll see what he does, though - and maybe he's better than I think that he is (read: smarter) and he'll remain undefeated for a while.

The fight I really want to see, though? Him versus Gamboa at 135. One of them will be exposed... I am just curious which one.

Yeah brother I don't get the Berto/Broner comparison at all. The only thing they have in common is 4 limbs. Love to see the Gamboa fight but I'm not sure he can do the Henry Armstrong and get back down there. Gamboa could move up though. Btw Berto looked like a fool trying to use the shoulder last night. I'm hoping Broner takes a tough fight for his optional but I have this feeling he might milk it.

Broner has courage going up and staying at welterweight but he is taking fight in stages at the weight. Credit to him for chasing the fame and money.

    Maidana will stop him.

Broner gets hit too easy and it's always been against featherfists.

He uses the shoulder roll, the problem is his shoulders roll but his head doesn't move from the location it started.

Now he's up against someone who hits hard and has decent accuracy.

However we must worry about the judges sitting with an essence of Broner-cum in their mouths if it goes to the scores.

If they actually fight and rinse and repeat Maidana beats Broner I'll turn in my fan card.

The guy who lost all ten rounds to Devon is such a beast it's pathetic what people think.

Broner is not going to fight Maidana anyway. But his next fight will be for a title and his title will be on the line as well, on the same card
Broner vs Peterson for the IBF 140lb title
Thurman vs Maidana for WBA 147 full title

I disagree, Khan and busted up Malignaggi a lot more than Broner did, IMO Broner didn't even really have an easy night against Paulie in what I thought was a close fight, no way in hell does he stop Maidana so quickly apart from maybe Maidana fighting a brainless fight
