Default Oscar Larios vs. Jhonny Gonzalez in the works

"Former champ Jhonny Gonzalez (39-6, 33KOs) is in line for a possible title shot against WBC featherweight champion Oscar Larios (62-6, 39KOs) on the December 6 undercard to Oscar De La Hoya vs. Manny Pacquiao at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

They must win their upcoming bouts for the title fight to happen. Gonzalez will return on October 25 in Arizona against Angel Priolo (30-7, 20KOs) of Colombia. Larios defends his title against unbeaten Takahiro Aoh (16-0, 8KOs) on October 16 in Tokyo, Japan.

Reginaldo Kuchle, Gonzalez's advisor and legal counsel, told ESTO that Golden Boy Promotions informed him of the possible title bout if Gonzalez comes through in his next fight."

Is Larios already cleared to fight in the US? Good fight tho...

Jhonny is so busy this year... He already fought 4 times and a fifth one coming in October... The Larios fight will be the sixth this year...

Yeah I didn't think Larios had been cleared yet but it is a good match-up.

I think Larios has his hands full with Aoh though!

Ditto that!! I thought Linares had pretty much run anything he might have left right out of him. I honestly didn't even know he was still fighting

I don't think he can get licensed in the U.S. so he's been fighting in Mexico, and now is gonna fight in Japan.

As much as I want my boy (Gonzalez) to grab a title and to be back on a high profile card, I really don't want to see Larios in the ring anymore, Linares destroyed Larios and I believe Gonzalez would do the same. Larios best days are far behind him, this is simply dangerous beyond the normal dangers in the ring.

Larios needs to retire before he dies in the ring, I'm not kidding

This is what his brain scan found after his fight with Linares and is why he can't fight in the US.

Pure madness as to why he would want to fight on

And not the right guy to be fighting anyway. Actually it would be better for his health sake if Gonzalez got him out early instead of taking a long beating.
