Flu my ass!! He had 6 pounds to lose two days before the weight in. He made it and weakened himself doing so.

They are doing this so he can keep his belt IMO.

I mean if Abraham was in a weakened and vulnerable state from making weight, he should not go ahead with the fight at this time. A fighters health should be held at the highest level.

It does not remove the fact that it was his responsibility to make the weight though, but where do you draw the line? If you strip him Marquez loses out also. At least the fight will still happen next month so all is not lost I guess.

This means I don't get to miss the fight... I was gonna miss since I would have been on my way to Pechanga.

lol Mick. Convenient for you and Abraham. Marquez should get some kind of compensation for having to stay longer in Germany. Typical shit, AA get alot of favoritism in Germany. Marquez is in for some surprise if he thinks he is winning a close one on the cards.

Well, maybe HBO or Showtime will pick this fight up now. Did the whole card get scrapped or what?

What a shame.Looking at that pic of the weigh in may have said it all....Abraham looked gaunt and drained in the face. You know Marquez was as pumped like never before being a last huge fight, really a shame for him.

Default Athur Abraham - WEAK AS PISS

    Read this on fightnews.com

IBF middleweight champion Arthur Abraham's mandatory defense against Raul Marquez has been postponed after King Arthur woke up today with a fever, swollen lymph nodes and the typical complaints of a cold. He was immediately brought to the Erlangen University Hospital where ring physician Dr. Walter Wagner and a local specialist diagnosed a flu virus. The sad consequence is tonight's entire card has been postponed until November 8th. "I am incredibly sorry for my fans," said Abraham. "I wanted to fight, but in this physical condition, I can't climb into the ring. The doctors have forbidden me." Trainer Ulli Wegner added, "There is no way he can make a mandatory title defense in his current state. It is a pity but there is nothing we can do. I am very sorry for the fans. We'll try to get Arthur healthy again as soon as possible and will prepare him for the fight on November 8." Tickets for tonight's postponed card at the Jako Arena in Bamberg, Germany will be valid for the new date.

The story is accompanied by photos of Abraham lying in a hospital bed looking miserable and another of a doctor looking at his throat.

From what I've read Abraham may have had trouble making weight. Either way, going to university hospital because you have a cold is close to the weakest thing I've ever heard in my whole fucking life.

Say you've got the flu if you need to bullshit, but the university hospital and the stupid photos when real people with REAL illnesses can't get a bed??

    WEAK AS PISS ABRAHAM.

You can't really expect him to compete in the most mentally and physically draining sport in the world when the man has a cold. He would get his head beaten in, give him a break, the fights still going to happen.
