Marvin Hagler's chin held up to the punches of Tommy Hearns and John Mugabi. How would it hold up to a guy like Julian Jackson or Nigel Benn?

I think Marvelous could take punches from ANY middleweight and I think he could trade with the best of them.
Hagler would have wrecked Benn and Jackson....and McClellan and anyone else!
Guys like RJJ or Toney might be able to hang with him simply because they could run or use defense but Hagler could crack!
I can see Jackson stunning Hagler and maybe, maybe dropping him. But I can't see him winning. Much less for Benn
Hagler goes down as one of the GOAT's.
I don't know of anyone that I rate high enough to stop Hagler...NO ONE.
Never beg a 40 dollar hooker...specially after she's just turned down your mom's credit card!!
....he could be outboxed, but stoppedI doubt it
Thet probably would not be able to hit him to find out.Hagler had skill plus Mugabi hit harder than the pair of them. I remember Micky Duff having a big bet on Mugabi to beat Hagler and Micky at the time was a good judge of a fighting man

The punches he took from Hearns and Mugabi who at the time Mugabi was undefeated and hit like an F'N Heavyweight...I think he was 26-0 with 26 ko's when he fought Hagler....Showed the chin of Marvin.....I mean Mugabi caught him HARD!!!! for the first 6 rds of that fight. If neither one of those two could KO Marvin...I can't think of anyone out there I have ever seen who could...Including a prime Toney or Jones..
To this day IMO Hagler ruined John Mugabi as a fighter...Destroyed his confidence

At middleweight no one hit harder than Julian Jackson and that includes MugabiOriginally Posted by Scrap
.....not even Tommy Hearns? Gerald McClellan? or even Roy Jones Jr?
I dont think so

I think Gerald Mcclellan would have a good shot a putting hagler on his shield...Marvelous was an animal but Gerald was PFP one of the strongest punchers ever he had a sledgehammer in both hands.....Not to mention he had deceptive hand speed when he had to...Again its all about matchups and Hagler is standing in front of him and not moving and vice versa so its a shoot out we know Marvins got a chin and so does Gerald...After Benns repeated BAck of the head punches and head butt to the orbital Gerald finally went down after he was literally beaten almost to death so he is a tough mofo.....Originally Posted by Violent Demise
I think the factor is Gerald gets hit to much I wont be popular for this but this is a pickem for me
Hagler-Wright would be the toughest fight for him I think....Winky just has such a tight defense.....it's hard to believe he got rocked so many times by Julio Cesar Vasquez
Don't want to be an ass but it's the OCCIPITAL LOBE and BRAIN STEM that are affected by rabbit punches
If Tommy Hearns or John Mugabi could not knock him down or out no one could . Hearns and Mugabi didn't just hit Marvin, they both hit him clean and with Hearns he was rocked but he kept going and with Mugabi he barely reacted. I saw the Hearns fight and said wow Marvin can take a punch, and then he fought Mugabi and I thought. So this is no joke. The man's chin is incredible. Two of the hardest punchers in history and he doesn't react. both Hearns and Mugabi said after that Marvin had an incredibly hard head. Julian had a different kind of power.. He had leverage with his whole body.. Hearns hit with speed and back to front power,,, Julian hit with side to side hook power.

...Then again I am a exibitionist...
That head butt Gerald took to his right Orbital has been well documented and for whatever reason added to the already fast declining state of trauma he was suffering from countless fouls and Brutal exchanges
