Default I didn't realize how badly Nate Campbell got screwed until now.

Its funny he beats the prospect Juan Diaz, things finally look up for him, he has a big fight with Joan Guzman that looked sure to set up a match with the co-feature Casamayor-JMM. Then Guzman doesn't make weight and Nate still says he will fight, but Guzman declines. That ruined the hype behind a fight between the winner of both lightweight fights. JMM might be moving up to face Hatton at 140, Casamayor after being KO'ed doesn't hold the same power he once did. I am not sure if Guzman will ever be able to make lightweight. Campbell got fucked over hard. I really feel bad for a guy like this who finally got his shot, only to have this happen.

I agree, I have become a fan of Nate Campbell who after his stupidity in losing to Robbie Peden and then lost the rematch has resurrected his career through hard work and dedication to his profession. He should be applauded for this and deserves to have some big fights come his way. I hope he gets his chance soon.

Yeah Nate is one of those guys that should be the target of everyone at 135, considered one of the best (right behind JMM). Unfortunately it seems he won't get enough chances to show his new found resolve.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

nate still has a chance to fight JMM some time early next year hopefully. i would love to see that fight then the winner could fight Pacman thats if he doesnt fight Hatton first.

Am hard pressed to think of a more deserving under appreciated fighter who has earned the big time spotlight right about now.Has payed huge dues only to have Guzman give him the finger, and the fans!!This is why the huge network leap-a-division hype fights get to me.Pac,JMM, are sitting in a stacked division.....good fights to be made while many are chasing bank first.

Agree 100% about Nate he should be on top of the world now.
Worst part about the whole deal is Guzman got away scot free with not making weight and refusing to fight. The jerk should have been banned from boxing

Felt the same way when I heard he is likely fighting Funeka(who looked damn good stopping Raheem imo) on the undercard of Angulo Mayorga. Such an abysmall high risk low reward fight for Campbell at this point in his career, it's ridiculous really.

Good Post. I completely agree. Nate has got the raw end of the stick for a minute now.

Nate does deserve a big fight, guzman should have been punish somehow. maybe a suspension or a penalty and have to pay nate for going through training only to find out there will be no fight. Right now i think nate should rematch casa and avenge his lost to him. Do not fight Funeka, imo thats a dangerous fight and nate deserves a bigger fight then that.

Just getting older too, who knows how he'll look the next fight, a year two years from now.

I don't really know enough about Funeka to say if he's really dangerous, obviously anyone that knocks out Zahir Raheem is a model citizen though.

Leave Pacquiao out of this he is chasing his legacy first. He is fighting a more decorated fighter than anyone around his weightclass, and he is moving up two weightclasses to do it. Fighting Oscar is more difficult than fighting anyone at lightwegiht including JMM.

I have grown to respect Campbell. I think he has had it tough but I'll be picking against him in April when he fights Barrera
