Default Amazing story about killer whales helping fishermen in early times.

Have a look at the pictures of "OLD TOM" in the other sections of the site ,you can see the wear marks through his teeth where he would tow the row boats out to the hunt with their ropes!

Eden is a worthwhile museum to visit if you ever come down the East coast of Australia.

that's a pretty cool story. never knew that could happen. actually its very fascinating and both parties, the humans and the orcas benefited from the mutual hunting arrangement. thanks for the read.

Very Cool! I'll always remember, along the British Columbia coast years ago, watchng a small rowboat with two guys in it fishing for salmon. Next thing you know, the boat is smack dab in the middle of a pod of killer whales, surfacing and milling about. Poor guys were just sitting there staring, I imagine they were scared shitless. The whales could have easily had those guys for lunch, but they never even rocked the boat.

A Killer whale will take out out a great white shark, but I've never hear of a case of a killer whale killing a human. Maybe a few cases of a domesticated orca getting rowdy, but that's about it.

I always liked this video. At the end, it looks like the killer whale is hanging around waiting for the rest of his salmon.

This one of Killer Whales hunting seals is also cool.

In the 60s I was climbing in Patagonia, not to far from the Seashore. Anyway the weather was shit so we had a walk, I still want to know who biult the stone walls there. So we are sat down looking out to sea and watching the seals, from nowhere we saw 4 fins on the water. Now I had never seen a Ocre in my life and when they started to role I wondered what the Fuck it was, I was 30 metres from the shore. Then they swan into the shore grabbed a seal then roled back into the water this went on for2 hours we were Gobsmacked amazing to watch.

Right On. I know the video I posted was off the coast of Argentina, which makes it entirely possible that it was filmed in Pategonia, which of course is in Argentina I believe.

I love the beach but for some reason when I get in there my mind starts playing the song from "Jaws"...

I hate it when that happens it just ruins it for me.

Ive seen em in the water while surfing only once at Flinders but at least 2 mile out and the only reason I knew it was them was the black and white colors spiining through the air as they flew.

LAst year we saw something unexplainable out about the same distance about eight round lumps all heading through the water together or maybe joined up underneath very simular to that footage of Lock ness monster with that series of lumps going along.
We thought it was boats at first like jet skis all going along together but slowly then they all sank, very strange.
