We should bring back the cool clicks

I am sure this has been said before, but it hasn't been said lately. I think we should go back to the old cool click/ sad click model.

I did like the Reps at first, but they have gotten way too high and they just seem like meaningless numbers.

Someone can have 38343494937 in reps when in the past, they would have been 33/6 which is much easier to follow and sort-of resembles a boxing record.

I also miss the ananimity of sad clicking someone for saying something stupid. Now I restrain from sad clicking because I dont want the person to hate me.

Just that the rep points thing is useless mate. Because the inflatory nature of it our rep totals double every 3 weeks or so meaning that all the rep a person has accumulated in their entire time on this board (several years for some of us) will be double in just over a fortnight.

So in theory if the most respected longstanding poster on the board for example CutMeMick went away for a month and a new poster joined the day he left and posted prolifically like a prime ICB they could acrue same rep total in one month that it took CutMeMick 4 years to achieve.

So in other words the rep table only reflects the last month and nothing more, it's meaningless.

Whereas coolclicks were earned one at a time, and you had to be here a long time and make a lot of quality posts to have a decent coolclick ratio.

Back in the day Wacko had over a 1000 more coolclicks than anyone else, it would have taken about 2 years for even the second placed person to catch him and that only if Wack's didn't get any more coolclicks at all in those two years.

Now look at him, under the new system he's 108th on the ratings most respected board between leggy and beanflicker.


The highest reputation status you can achieve on this board is as follows

'Don't mess with this user you will get ktfo, too powerful and full of class'


Currently only 408 members have managed to reach this highest accolade, including most impressively Ready To Rumble, who did it with just 3 posts, the quality of which must have been simply amazing


It's not the system itself, the idea of giving rep is ok, it's the fact that your punch power increases leads to the system being spectacularly nerfed in this way.

I hate to use such geeky internet lingo, but in the words of a cyber nerd it's been an 'epic fail'.

i agree.. i mean i don't care if we go back to the cool click system or whatever, but it's all meaningless now.. i've given up on even looking at how much rep i have because the only way to keep up your rep is to keep repping others.. then they see you repped them and they rep you back blah blah.. at least before it was anonymous unless someone said "CC"..

I prefer the CC system. Bilbo makes some valid points, the system we have now has its flaws. The one at a time CC kept things real. This rep system just deals in silly numbers that do not reflect upon a poster accurately IMO.

But we got rid of to replace with a mere number, although to be fair, for most of us it is at least a fucking ridicously huge number.
