Froch is 31. Let's see how his resume compares with the recently retired Calzaghe's by the time they were both 31. These are the top 5 fights each of the boxers had had by this time.

    FROCH:
    Jean Pascal
    Robin Reid (37 yrs old)
    Brian Magee
    Henry Porras
Tony Dodson (for the British title, Dodson had already lost 3 fights, 2 by TKO)

    CALZAGHE:
Chris Eubank (had never hit the canvas, Calzaghe had him on his arse in the 1st round)
Charles Brewer (former IBF title holder)
Robin Reid (28 yrs old and in his prime, Calzaghe edged a points decision)
Byron Mitchell (Dangerous fighter, went on to TKO both Scott Pemberton and Veit following his loss to Joe)
Mark Delaney (was 21 - 0 when Joe fought him for the British title)

Calzaghe ahead at this stage but much respect to Froch if the Taylor fight takes place.

With Taylor and Pascal on his resume, assuming he wins then he will be on course.

Yeah that would be impressive if Mick Hennessey could pull it off. Makes Warren's comments about American fighters dodging Joe look like a joke, or it could be because it would be for Carl's WBC title as opposed to the unheralded WBO title.

Still, Froch is getting TKO'd by the 10th.

I disagree from an American's point of view, this is Froch's fight to lose if Carl decides to roll over and play dead. Taylor's not all that respected over here.

Calzaghe's resume clearly outshines that of Froch. I would be gobsmacked if Froch were to finish his career with anywhere near the aplomb that Calzaghe has too.

I agree with you but I don’t give to Froch more than 40 % chances to beat Taylor. It’s hard to believe he will be able to KO Taylor (he couldn’t KO Pascal) and even harder to beat him on points.

We are talking about at this respective stage in their careers Miles, i.e when Calzaghe was 31 before Lacy, Kessler, Hopkins, Jones Jr etc

I wasnt clear in my post at all. The first sentence was meant to deal with the resume at 31. The second was me going completely off topic.
