Default Mayorga withdraws from the Angulo fight

Its over at Boxing Scene. Gary Shaw says he's been told its an injury he suffered during camp but has gone on saying that he doesn't buy it and that Mayorga is scared of Angulo. Shaw mentions Alfonso Gomez and K9 Bundrage as 2 possible replacement opponents he is talking to in the hope they'll take the fight at 2 weeks notice.

Nate Campbell-Ali Funeka and Sergio Martinez-Kermit Cintron are also on the 14th February card that was supposed to be a triple header.

This was shaping up to be an outstanding card as it was but I think it will still be very nice......Did they say Gomez as a replacement??,please say they did not.I was actually leaning towards Mayorga but it looks like he found a kegger that night instead.Injured my azz.I hope Campbell shines, deserves to be at the top of the mix.Funeka is a bit of a mystery.

I doubt Mayorga would be scared of anyone. Just look at the names he has been in against. He might have lost more fights than you would expect of a big name fighter but he sure as heck hasnt fought a lot of tomato cans. The injury is probably legit.

Yeah that's ridiculous and Shaw is just a loud mouth. I loved that old GIF of Castillo going FAT, PAY ME to Shaw.

To bad, Gomez might not be a bad fight.

Ya, Mayorga's definitely not scared. If he wasn't scared of Tito, Oscar, or Mosley, why in the world would he be scared of Angulo?

If there is something "fishy" going on... the one thing I could buy is that maybe Mayorga is way overweight.

Damn. I was looking forward to this fight. I mean, I dont know how much Mayorga has left, but it would have been a great test for Angulo.

Well I was going to pick Mayorga for this one. He is NO cream puff. But, his reasoning for backing out are almost assuredly weight. I mean he took this fight so fast after getting KOed by Mosley. I'd think he's trying to cash in a little bit. And... definately not scared. He is tough as nails and fearless. I just can't stop watching Forrest with that wide eyed look after round 1 in their 1st fight. Put the fear of Jesus in him!

I would agree with others that Mayorga is most likely overweight. He has a partyin lifestyle and lacka discipline sometimes.

Far as bein scared goes. Thats bullshit. He will knock Angulo the fuck out when and if the fight comes off.
    Who the fuck is Angulo?

Ricardo Mayorga would fight a Lion if the price was right.

Read today the real reason Mayorga has withdrawn from the fight is that he still has a bad rib injury from the Mosley fight.
