I think this fight has to happen really, ranked 1 and 2 in the world and the significance of the fight is massive to the 168 weight class. I think Kessler has been too inactive and hasnt done enough since losing to JC, hes had a lot of problems with his promotion and this can effect a fighters performance in the ring IMO. I think Carl will take this fight hands down, but I dont know about Kessler its a lot more complicated than simply Carl just wanting the fight. I doubt that Kesslers promotion team will let him go over to England again, and I dont think Carl will want to travel to his homeground after just winning the biggest win of his career. Carl needs another fight at home IMO, I think Allan Green is a very likely fight for him in Nottingham, as much as I want a Kessler fight I just dont see it happening
Mikkel Kessler is a good fighter but im not sure just how good he is, his two best wins are against the limited Librado Andrade, who is good but is limited skill wise. And against Anthony Mundine who is also good but not elite, and he just about beat Anthony Mundine by a few points.
He got pretty much embarrased by Joe Calzaghe after the 4th round, i don't think Mikkel Kessler has fully proven himself yet. And he may well be there for the taking i haven't seen his comeback fights, because frankly i haven't been interested.
When the hell is he going to step it up ? at this point after Lucian Bute beats Librado Andrade again, i think Lucian Bute vs Carl Froch should happen. I've been saying for ages Lucian Bute is the darkhorse of the division, and he could well be the best Super Middleweight at the moment.
Kessler would make Froch look bad, real bad!!
Froch seems to be calling everyone out but lets be honest the only bargaining tool he has the WBC strap, he has no fanbase no British tv coverage, im pretty sure hs next fight will be either Dirrell or Green.
But for me Kessler would pummel Froch all night, I think it would be quite similar to the Andrade Kessler fight, i wouldnt mind seeing Froch in with Andrade what a fight that would be!!
Didnt froch say his next fight would be in nottingham??
bad move if you ask me, only current boxing provider in the uk is now sky sports and hennessy dont do business with sky which suggests it`ll be another 24 hour later showing on itv4
Get yourself over at shobox carl and stick to fighting stateside as youre completely lost at the moment fighting in the uk and as its been proved so many times fighting in germany is a big no-no
one dangerous horrible bloke
But compare Kessler's win over Andrade to Bute's, Kessler beat the bejeezus out of Andrade and barely got touched the whole fight, it was just a credit to him that he kept coming and didn't get knocked out. I know outside of the last round Bute fairly well handled Andrade but not like Kessler did and you can't discount the fact that most refs would have stopped the fight in the 12th (even though I didn't think it was as egregious as some did.)
And I thought he beat Mundine comfortably and acquited himself pretty well against Calzaghe.
What he's done since Calzaghe though is ridiculous although he's supposed to have some promotional issues.
Froch's better than I thought in his own bizarre way but if Kessler's the same fighter he was he handles him.

kessler no way hammered mundine
Rule bute out of the picture here straight away, both men would hammer him into submission and he should stick to looking for a fight with pascal, diaconu.
Froch-Kessler would be great IF it happened in the us. If it happens in germany, denmark carl willl just be thrown to the lions and every single ref, judge etc will be sauerland employed!!
one dangerous horrible bloke
LOL, "I thought he beat Mundine comfortably" doesn't equal "He hammered Mundine." He won comfortably.
Mikkel Kessler did do better against Librado Andrade agreed, but i thought Lucian Bute just made a mistake of trading in the last round. Which he will learn from, i thought he only lost 1 round prior to the 12th round.
And i think he outboxed Librado Andrade easily up until that point, Lucian Bute is a very good fighter with some very underrated wins.
I didn't think he beat Anthony Mundine comfortably by any means, i thought he won a close fight because he won the later rounds. But i thought the fight was pretty much even until the last few rounds or so.
I don't think he did that well against Joe Calzaghe, he had a few good rounds early but other than that he was pretty much made to look pretty bad.
Even in the last round he looked desperate and wild and he looked beaten mentally and physically. Lesser fighters although they fought more dirty done just as good points wise, against Joe Calzaghe.
I think Mikkel Kessler is a good fighter but i don't think he has fully proven how good he is yet, wins over Anthony Mundine, Librado Andrade, are good but they don't show how good he really is.
Beating a few of the top 168 pounders currently now would tell us more about him, but sadly instead since 2007 he's wasted his time with mediocre opponents what a shame.

To me its difficult to compare how Kessler did against Calzaghe than say Kabary Salem or even Bika did. It seems pretty clear in retrospect that Calzaghe was floating along for awhile fighting guys that didn't exactly inspire greatness out of him. Out of the guys he fought later in his career that he seemed really tuned into only Bernard did better than Kessler.
How many rounds did you give Mundine? I might have given him 4, I can't remember, I only saw it the one time.
I think Kessler would school Froch something rotten. Froch is so limited in what he does and Kessler stands heads and shoulders above him in the skills department. I like what Froch has done recently but I see him as a very limited fighter. He's got a great chin and heart, but a boxer with brains and a little stamina beats him.
Froch is really not my cup of tea he frustrates the hell out me, lets be honest Taylor beat himself that night he took Froch to school until he gassed out. Even with Kesslers inactivity he still beats Froch. Fight i want to see though![]()
I hope this does happen. Kessler would destroy Froch. Froch reminds me of a good amatuer, not a professional. This fight reminds me of Kessler vs Andrade.Kessler dictating the pace and he would eventually put him away.
Is similar to Kess/Andrade; though Librado I would still give a better chin to. I thnk unless Froch fixes the holes in his defense it is just a matter of time until he gets schooled; though he does have great determination and resolve; but so did Hatton
I've been wanting to see Froch/Andrade; rock em' sock em' robots fun.
Kessler would ruin Froch. So would Bute.
