I go to Los Angeles and Las Vegas in 2 weeks. Places to visit etc ?

I'm going to the US for 2 weeks at the end of the month for my 18th birthday. I cant wait to visit the West Coast of America It should be great. I'm going to LA for a week and to Vegas. Staying at the Mandalay Bay in Vegas. Also staying a couple of nights at Santa Monica in California.

Anybody from these places tell me things I should go see, do etc ?

Too bad I won't be able to drink or gamble. Fuckin gotta be 21 over there.

Keep in mind I'm a 17 year old British lad with a funny accent and big mouth what should I avoid in LA ? I heard some places in LA are not to be messed with

hey Lefty,
I would recommend doing the trashy tourist bus trip to the stars homes, one of those must do's to see how the other half live also a wander round Rodeo drive to watch how money people shop !!

If you wanna have a workout go to Golds Gym at Venice which aint far from Santa Monica, and also try out the weights pen at Muscle Beach in Venice.

I think the same rules apply to LA as anywhere else, pretty much stay to the main tourist areas. You're olnt there for a short time so shouldn't be able to get in much trouble (although you are on your 18th!!!)

Vegas pretty much takes care of itself mate, I just love the casinos for wandering a round and seeing just how crazy they are for the various themes. Remember sitty at a one arm bandit and getting free drinks coz I was spending money, i think it's a ploy to get you pissed and onto more expensive machines. i don't gamble as such so i was content to take their beer and play the cheap machines.

Couple of good shopping places too where you can get big bargains near Vegas, can't remember the name right now but sure someone can fill you in.

loads of great scenery too, just try and fit in as much as you can.

And you're right mate you will get asked for ID just about everywhere unless you look a bit older and find a more laid back bar off the beaten track, unless they have relaxed a bit since I was last over there.

Its been a long time for me 20 years but..Venice beach, must do, Day times better. (dont over shoot the bus of a night you'll end up where you dont want to be). Used to be able to catch a band out on Santa Monica pier some nights ; if the swells up go up to malabu for the surfie chicks and mal action. Get a tattoo at LA ink. The original Disneyland. Universal studios. Go eat Mexican for breakfast and have tequila straight afterwards just to get in the swing.
Culture shock comming at you as you fly in and you see how big the fuker is.

why only 2 weeks? i think the rule is if you travel across the world you must stay atleast 1 month.

And Julius I aint got the cash to stay a month but I can guarantee this will be the first of many visits.

As for jamiebhoy thanks for the advice. I'll deffo take that tour bus. And my next stop after the US certainly is Australia. I'm going to Aus in Jan/Feb and staying in Perth for a week as I have family that live there and I'm also doing a week's cruise round the country stopping at Syndney, Melbourne etc.

I would make sure to visit all the hotels on the Vegas strip. It's like an adult Disneyland over there. Of course, you'll have to put up with all the billboards of scantily clad ladies with their phone numbers on them... but what the hell.

yo leftylee i went to the states & drank under age as i just got sum fake I.D but police took it off me eventually but i had abt 10 days drikin behind me by then, i got my fake I.D outta the magazine VIZZ & thats no shit man!

my sister lives in LA so i kept pretty local to wear she lived think it was called tarzana or summit like that?
