Junior “The Hitter” Witter believes he can embarrass Amir Khan into a major world title unification bout should he return from the U.S. this weekend with his old WBC belt.
Witter will try to regain his junior welterweight world crown in California on Saturday night when he goes up against unbeaten American Devon Alexander. The Bradford native is confident that he can emerge victorious and line up a unification clash with recently crowned WBA champ Khan.
“I think I’m the last guy Khan wants to meet but it would be a natural unification fight for the U.K.” said Witter. “Ricky Hatton avoided me for long enough when he was world champ and I‘m sure Khan won’t want to get the same reputation but it would be a short nights work for me - I’d knock him out inside three rounds.”
