    Default Question about gloves.

For quite a long time now, i was wondering:

What is the main difference between the new grant gloves and the Reyes? I've read a few things online and apparently, the new grants are as much as a hitter gloves as the Reyes so then, if it is true, of course, what is the main difference between the two?

I've read somewhere by a source which I am not 100% certain of the reliability is that the way the Grant are made there is more space for the hand inside, because of the outside curve or something.

Anybody has an answer to it?

well used to be that the Reyes had more of their weight distributed back down the glove around the wrist area and a more solid smoothed out sort of panel around the clenched nuckle..

I'm guessing maybe Grant have done the same and perhaps shifted some weight back down the glove... In ask the trainer section they might have a better answer if anyone has bought grants recently and tried Cleto's..

I know that Haye does not wear Reyes because he says that it feels like he is punching without any gloves. Also know Tyson being a traditionalist wore Everlast gloves but modified them like the Reyes gloves.

Seems that the big boys don't like the Reyes gloves....I can't think of many heavyweights that have worn them, I know the Klitschko's wear Grant and I believe Lennox Lewis also wore Grant. Perhaps Grant is easier on the fist than Reyes.

Yeah that's the impression I had as well...

Also for sparring, if you want to consider your sparring partners face, Reyes probably aren't the best choice..

The REYES gloves are known as a punchers glove. Grant has been on the scene in the last few years and the bigger guys seem to like em. Here's an older thread from the ask the trainer thread that discussed the Reyes gloves.

Hope it sheds some light for you.
