I have always been a big ricky fan. did he have the complete package? no. he came up short against the very best in the world. but goddamit, it was a great career to watch and be a part of.

some people dont get it, but with ricky you became emotionally invested in the fights. his charisma brought you on board, and the excitement rarely left you disappointed. to the haters: boxing needs more people like ricky, who make you become so involved in one individual, no matter that he was not the greatest ever. I would take another ricky hatton over another more skilful fighter.

just imagine this: ricky hatton with the skills and success of pbf or pacman, he would have been a monster, completely stepping beyond the realms of boxing, as so few have done before (ali).

now i hope he retires and leaves me with great memories of a true warrior, with more heart and courage than he should have had on occasion.

i leave you with a great quote, i forget the wording exactly:

"well that was a lucky shot wasnt it?"

haha, what a winner, a true champ in defeat!

Still a good vid, I remember seeing it in my snooker club on the day of the fight and it got me buzzing like a bastard. It was only for the Maussa fight mind.

    Absolutley!

I started thinking about it earlier, you'll see it in my post about a Ricky comeback. He lost to the best in the world, but it was great times.

I think he could have had the skills, with the right corner all the way through. He just didn't have the head and did what most of us would have done in the fights, get all excited with the momment and lose the game plan! He never will have the head for it, he gets carried away in the "Ricky Mania" he has created. I was jumping round like a right twat and I wasn't even in the ring!

But it was a good career and he did better than a lad like him could have ever dreamed he could have done. It's not the fighting he misses, but it's the fans and the thrill of it. Gonna take a few more beatings before it sinks in.

But I hope he can get a few more sgood scraps in against opponents near his level. Still got a good fight in him I recon.

Imagine if he wins! He will prob then want a shot at the winner of the Pac vs FM! And he'd prob get it ..............and get beat up again!
