Default Devon Alexander vs. Juan Urango unification deal done, HBO, March 6th

There is a further report over at Boxing Scene confirming this has been signed and will likely take place in Vegas. Apparently Maidana has decided not to fight Alexander and will try and force the Amir Khan fight instead.

Kudos to getting the deal signed, this should be a great fight. Urango has really grown on me, for all his lack of skill, and inability to stop blinking so much he ALWAYS brings that great equalizer of devastating power to the ring. Against Bailey he also showed the heart to get up off the canvas and press on, gotta respect that.

Alexander seems to be the complete package, the goods, but how will he react when his sense get scrambled. OR can he avoid the severe contact altogether?

This is a very exciting match to me.

I hope Maidana/Khan gets made as well.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

Wow, legitimate fights still get made without months of whirling bullshit?

Should be a decent fight, Urango is a determined hard puncher with a great chin, but Alexander should outbox and outclass him.

For sure. He also showed an extremely solid chin in that fight.

Alexander beats the very slow of foot at Urango pretty comprehensively imo.

Alexander has all of the skill to shine in this one given the styles. But that Urango strength and depth have to way heavy.Aside from a used Corley and an agreeable Junior witter Devon has not been in the trenches at this level and forced to fight and thats where Urango will insist on going. He can not coast or lay inside with Juan or he'll wake up in the dressing room.

Hatton got in and out on Urango with relative ease in the first half of their fight. I'm not sure that's what Bradley will necessarily try to do and I agree he must remain careful but I don't think Urango is polished enough around the edges to beat Alexander. I didn't think he would beat Ngoudjo either though but I'm pretty sure Alexander is of a different class.

That's gonna be quite an interesting match, I tend to think that Urango will be outsmarted and outspeeded in the end but a strong puncher has always a chance to spark it all out somehow.
