I think this is a perfect time in their careers for them to fight.
After Cotto beats Foreman of course.
This year I would like to see this fight at welterweight.
How about all of you?

"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
Mate I made the same thread only few months ago makes sense both on the decline both warriors, both should bow out in a big ppv fight like this. Even though I think it ends ugly for Hatton.
Cotto has many options in this fight he can outbox Hatton or just fight him and still be to big and powerful. Id love to see it though.
Hatton needs a tune up first though to see where his chin is really at, otherwise I have no desire to see him duking it out with Cotto at 147. I wouldn't want any gay Pac style catchweight nonsense either.
Hatton can't come back from a 2 round beat down and face Cotto, just like Cotto couldn't come back from Margarito and fight anyone good for a while.
So will Hatton fight for the p4p contender status or whatever it is?![]()
My bad I didn't see your thread, and I was just playing Fight Night Round 4 last night with Cotto vs. Hatton and it occurred to me they should fight.
lol
Yes Cotto would be the favorite and though they both only have 2 losses I think Cotto has more left in the tank than Hatton.
It would be a great great fight for both of them though.

Cotto at welterweight kills Ricky Hatton, and i'm scared that i mean literally![]()
Aaaargh NO WAY, Ricky gets badly damaged if it's WW ...............actually just damaeged no matter what.
I would've agreed before but Cotto is shot to shit. Marg ruined cotto, pac just threw the pieces in the bin.
it just depends if Ricky has anything left. I suppose the fight could happen. I just can't help but feel it's a bit pointless with neither having much to gain other than money and the loser being firmly put on the scrap heap.
Cotto destroys Hatton at this point.
You know, iv always felt that Hatton would beat Cotto.
Cotto is fine if you stand off and let him skirt the ring, like Mosley did to load up on the big shots, I think Hatton would tire him making him have to work at a higher rate than he likes.
Cotto would be to big and strong at 147 he would take Hatton out in 4.
They should have a catch weight fight to even it up a bit 144lb and then we see Hatton win.![]()
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
I see both Cotto and Hatton as being at their best in their own weight divisions. Unfortunately, they don't belong to the same weight division.
I prefer them to fight within their own division so that we can better gauge as to whether either or both of them are indeed on the decline, or that they were just beaten by a superior fighter.
