Default Estrada vs Rivero what a fight!

As you all seen, last night we had fights up the wazoo, one of these fights that has not been talked about was

    Daniel Estrada
    Daniel Estrada - Boxer

    VS

    Angel Alirio Rivero
    Angel Alirio Rivero - Boxer

WBC Youth World lightweight title (LOL)

These two went at it for 10 rounds before the fight was stopped in the 10th

If you missed it, you missed a great fight.

I thought it was a disgraceful stoppage. Rivero was probably a point ahead going into the last round and Estrada was the house fighter. The ref stopped Rivero when he was throwing punches.

    Refs actions looked orchestrated.

Based on why the fight was stopped, this could have been the case in every freakin round. Both fighters were put on Bambi legs several times through out this fight and when Rivero was hit just before the stoppage, as you said.. Rivero was still in the fight and letting his hands go. Maybe the best fight of the night until this unjustly miscarriage The ref deserved to get punched right in the jaw for what he did.

Estrada's eyes were practically closed from the battle

Well here is a video of the stoppage.

Mind you that the entire fight was nothing but back and forth action and based on this, the fight should have gone the entire 10 and not stopped with 2 minutes left in the final round. You be the judge.
Let's look at the last round shall we?

I don't know how the judges had it.
Even though I believe we had open scoring, they were unable to relay to the viewers what the scores announced were at the time they were being announced. My guess is, they would have given the fight to Estrada had this gone to the actual score cards but the fat that it was stopped in the final round may have had something to do with the open scoring?

The following was posted by Tim Starks @ queensberry-rules

I guess boxing has gotten sick of the whole "defensible result/indefensible scorecard" controversy for fantastic fights and decided that it would far rather get sexy with the "ridiculously bad stoppage" controversy for good fights. Last weekend, it was Vivian Harris getting stopped wildly prematurely in his well-fought junior welterweight fight with Lucas Matthysse. This week, it was Daniel Estrada getting the KO win in the 10th round over Angel Rivero. This was a slugfest amongst slugfests for 10 rounds, and it was just as close a fight as you could hope for between two dudes punching the living piss out of one another, with the one-loss Estrada having gone down at one point against the six-loss Rivero. Then, out of nowhere, the referee stepped in and stopped the fight. Col. Bob Sheridan, a legend of sorts in the broadcasting booth, found a way to justify the ref's decision by noting that Estrada landed three unanswered punches. Three. Whereas if you'd watched the fight, you'd know that these men were landing crazy punches on one another with the other then landing the same number of punches, and in fact Rivero was punching back in that round. If you would you like to make this fight the latest poster child for everything that's good and bad about boxing, feel free.

That is literally the worst stoppage I have ever seen. Clearly fixed, for whatever reason.
