Default What albums are generally considered classics but you disagree

Hi, a counter thread to the what we consider classics.

Some else suggested this one so I will kick off.

    The Verve Urban Hymns

Good album but IMO overated and a bit hyped.

    HAng on:
I'll have to go and have a look at the other list first and decide who to upset the most.

Anything by Bruce Springsteen for a start , Over rated nasal cavity singing, flag swinging,to tight jean wearing, pretentious, rude to his roadies, tickets all over himself. Bum.

For me anything by Led Zeppelin. Their music doesn't appeal to me in the slightest. I first discovered a number of classic albums by going through my Dads record collection as a kid. Bowie, I loved. The Stones, I loved. But Led Zeppelin? Bloody awful! Whenever I hear their music, I cringe. Robert Plants voice might have something to do with it.

This has been duly recorded by HFahrenheit and will played continually for you when they kidnap your ass and send to the new and improved Guantanamo. If you can hear Springsteens stuff from a room down the hall you;ll know who they got in there then. .

    Nirvana-Nevermind

It's just meh for me. Yes they did help break the hairspray/glam rock that was dominating the charts at the time, but they would also help inspire the emo genre which would populate the charts of the 2000s. Haven't listened to public radio in nearly a decade because of that crap populating the charts. Although this album did help ushered into the alternative rock era (which was quite good in the early 90s), so I have to give it some credit.

A classic album should have no filler tracks and shouldn't make you want to skip many if any of the tracks.

Any album by U2, Led Zepellin, Black Sabbath, Blur (Parklife)

I think Pearl Jam's 10 is a better album than Nevermind

Janis Joplin. I understand the period and all but I just can't understand why she's classified as a classics, to me it doesn't make much sense

I really like Coldplay (or should say I like their music) but I take them for what they are. They aint a Rock Band, they have no personality, most of their songs don't mean a lot, but they are just realy good easy listening pop tunes. Very good live too. Not going to be in my list of great bands, but I think they do what they do well

    Niether, Motley Crue FTW!

And yes Ten is better than Nevermind, hell imo Pearl Jam was the superior band coming out of the Seattle Grunge scene.
