Default At the long last, we will be seeing who the real Floyd Mayweather, Jr. is!

Being a boxing fan since long before many kids here were even born, I'm pretty excited about this fight that comes once in ages and has a potential for becoming a classic. I've never been a believer of Floyd but have nevertheless been intrigued by this man simply because many, fans and so-called experts alike, consider him to be one of the best. The only problem is some of us just don't see it. They say he is the 'most skilled' but to me, and many others, skill to be validated must be tested out against the best. I'm one of the few who think Floyd failed in this crucial part, despite the tendency of many to over-hype his opponents. I just can't, not just yet, consider him one of the best when he struggled against the likes of Castillo (no doubt a great fighter, but how great?), aged dela Hoya, and small Hatton (in the early rounds).

So now comes the day, at the long last, where Floyd Mayweather Jr. can prove us wrong and show to the world that he indeed deserves to be called one of the best, if not the best ever, boxer to step in the ring and I think Mosley, despite his age, is good enough opponent for Floyd to do just that. IMO, I think this will be Pretty Boy's toughest fight and am excited to find out who the so-called 'most skilled' boxer of this generation turns out to be. We shall see...

In the meantime, this is how I see the fight:

Mosley will probably come out strong and try to bully Floyd and so, Floyd will have his hands full. So I'm expecting lots of love-making in this fight with Floyd trying to hold on to Mosley to stop the latter's assault, while pot-shotting on the way. I'm expecting Mosley to come out as a better version of dela Hoya so he should be able to score better, with harder shots, and so, making the fight lot closer. I think Floyd winning but it will be close enough for the other side to make lots of post-fight noises. But if the ugly 'politics' comes into play, Sugar can keep the title and Floyd the rematch, while the Golden Boy laughing all the the way to the bank.

But this is boxing, anything can happen, and so I'll be waiting for a big surprise today. Enjoy your fights, and adios, folks.

To be fair to Floyd I think this is at least on par with facing Oscar at 154, so to say at last we will be seeing who the real Floyd is a bit unfair.

Well after more than half a dozen random drug tests taken during the training camp we know floyd mayweather is clean.

I don't think it is unfair mate. Oscar at that time had no real fire to fight, and it showed. Shane is a completely different animal. A better boxer and a superior fighter.

though im still going with a narrow mayweather win in what will be a surprisingly great fight with endless back and forths and lots of controversy

Couple surprises. We saw Floyd can actually hurt a tough guy like Mosley. I never expected this one-sided beating by Floyd. But still, his chin issue is still unresolve, but as I've said couple times before, maybe he doesn't need one - a chin-less fella, huh. LOL...

So where does he stand after the fight? Well, all I can say for now is that he made me a believer. Never mind the 'best ever' or 'better than Ali' thing, one of the best, if not the best (c'mon, don't let me say that coz I ain't), of this generation, no doubt. Fair enough, right? Keep your cool, fellas.

Chin issues? Mosely one of the hardest hitting welters of all time hit him with a righthand that would have KO'd the majority of fighters rigght there and then yet PBF didnt even go down. in fact he recovered and finished off the round strong. aint no chin issues with Floyd.

Agreed mate i thought Floyd showed he had a chin Mosley would of put most 147lb's away with those 2 shots he landed on Floyd.

Yes, I think we saw that mayweather is a pretty damn complete fighter. A shut out performance against a very good operator in Mosely.
