So if Donaire wins does he become p4p #1 ?![]()
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
Donaire wins again, moves up the P4P rankings, and Bilbo's head explodes.
Donaire is going to go back and fight blown up strawweights again.
After that he becomes p4p #3.
"The day I clipped the Butterfly's wings."
i don't know who to believe. one camp saying they're avoiding. the other likewise.
I look up to Vic (not literally thank God Im 5'10)
for wanting to correct the books, its a gutsy move and one he wants badly. He has called him out publicly and said here the belt come and get em.
I'd really be hoping for a Vic ko but Donaire would probably outbox and spark him again. Darchinyan never backed out on tough fights. Donaire has avoided tough fights. I'm assuming its Donaire that backed out based on reputation.
It's kind of strange that this supposed failure to come to terms seemingly hasn't been picked up by any sources other than fightnews. Nothing on the Ring's website; nothing on boxingtalk.
I did see, however, that in Dougie Fischer's mailbag today, he called out the magazine for ranking Donaire so high:
"Montiel’s performance surprised and impressed me greatly. To be honest, with his accomplishments I believe Saturday’s victory was enough to earn him a lower top-10 pound-for-pound ranking. I was disappointed he didn’t make it into THE RING’s P4P ratings. I think he’s more deserving than Celestino Caballero (No. 10) and Nonito Donaire (No. 4), who has probably benefited more from a single victory (Darchinyan back in 2007) than any fighter in the past 10 years."
