Re: just ANOTHER thing on mayweather... lol
A lot of times putting the Muffs on is an invitation to the other fighter to walk right in on you and start teeing off on you. To some its an insurance policy in case youre not fast enough to get out of the way (as was mentioned about Roy Jones jr.).
If you got a brawler or a guy that wastes alot of his energy swinging big, its a way to wear the man down. Like Ali did to Foreman... (Kinda like fishing, If you got a big fish and try to reel him in right away when he still has fight in him... you'll break the line. So you tug every once in a while but hold strong in the meantime and he'll wear himself out and you can drag him on the boat easily once hes tired.)
Both kinda happened with Floyd and Shane. If you havent tested the speed yet of an opponent.. Its a good idea to keep your hands high till you get adjusted. Hopefully your gloves catch the punches your eyes don't. Shane wore himself out a little bit in the second and blew his load trying to get Mayweather out of there. After that point it seemed like Floyd would put his hands up just to get Shane to close in for the attack only to hit him in the mouth and then walk away. I guess the last thing you expect after you get an invitation is to be punched in the mouth when you ring the doorbell.
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.
