Is Ricky Hatton an Alcoholic ?

For a long time its been a big joke how piss drunk Ricky gets at fights, and in public.

But it seems to me like he is almost ALWAYS piss drunk.

Especially reading recent posts on here.

Do you guys think he may have a serious problem with alcohol ?

Alcoholic no but is he going that way I think he is, like I said couple of people who no him well are worried, he needs to calm down a bit with the booze he is only 31 and has alot of time on his hands I hope in ten years time we won't be saying poor Ricky the Alcoholic.

from what i've seen i agree, i don't think he's quite there yet, but if he doesn't learn to control himself i could see him walking down that path, thing is he's always been a drinker, but he's been seen doing so even more so after the loss to Pacquiao, if the two are linked he should seriously think about getting help

If he's just drinking beer then I'd assume he's ok just so long as he's not getting violent or dangerous or what have you.

The thing is we no he likes a drink, but just think since the PAC fight we've probably heard or seen he's been wasted 3 or 4 times since then. 3 to 4 times in 300 hundred days,that's not alot. I think where Reading into it to much to be honest,I might be wrong tho, whatever is going on I hope ricky is well, cause he's a fighter close to my heart, I'm sure he's sound

Well I think I will get booed if I dare to say that in UK it's an institution to get out and having a drink with friends :-)

thing is, yes they drink a lot over there (and it's a Belgian who's saying that), and I perfectly understand that after all these years of privation he needs to have a good time.

I also like to have party with friends and drinks what's wrong? , he proved in the past he could be serious in 40+ bouts, he's a true pro and knows what he needs to do if he wants to get back.

Now, I agree, at this stage if he does that everyday, it's gonna ruins its body, and we all see what happen to Ricky when he fought bigger guys.

after 40+ he's the same Ricky Hatton he always was, he never took good care of his body, he'd blow up to 200+ lbs. then shrivel down to 140 to fight, he's taken horrible care of his body, it's probably one of the biggest reasons why he's so young and basically done as a fighter, look at other fighters who've taken great care of their bodies knowing full well that it's the most important tool in making an income, Hopkins and Holyfield are two great examples

As long as it doesn't interfere with his life than I find it ok to get drunk on weekends. But Ricky needs to watch out because the media is gonna be looking for him , since they know he likes to drink and is gonna try to make him say something stupid to make him look like an idiot. Those kind of people are c*nts. You see he's really drunk, he's not gonna say anything sensefull, just leave him the f*ck alone .

You hear a lot of stories about him being drunk, so perhaps it is a problem. I don't know, but there is no good reason to be blotto before you've even watched a big fight. That sounds a bit desperate.

well , yeah, I dont get drunk before big fights. Especially since he's seeing it live. Theres alot of stories since he admits he likes drinking. First its Calzaghe a cocaine head , Khan sending nude pics and now hatton a alcoholic. Whats happening to the british boxing scene lol , nobodys perfect

No, nobodies perfect. But when it comes to Hatton and Calzaghe I just want them to look after themselves. There's nothing cool about fucking yourself up day in day out. Khan can become a junky for all I care.
