    ...does anybody care?
There has been a fight in Poland today (actually yestarday), and somehow surprisingly I didn't notice anyone talking about it . Looks like Fragomeni is done for good. He did actually give up himself after the second knock down. Do you think Krzysztof Diablo Wlodarczyk has something to show in his division? He was not much worse than Steve Cunningham a couple years ago and Steve is second in boxrec ranking .

much worse than Steve Cunningham? Cunningham is still plenty damn good, he gave Adamek hell in their fight and many believe there should be a rematch, also i'd given him plenty of a chance to upset Haye at Cruiserweight

OK, putting Cunningham aside, Wlodarczyk just went up in boxrec ranking to 9th place. But does it change anything? I predict he will be knocking down Romanian and Italian "waiters" (as we call boxers with pathetic resume) for the next year until forced to defend the title, which he will minimally lose to some unknown contender. The best thing WBC could do is to force Wlodarczyk to fight with some hot name as soon as possible (is there a hot name in cruiser??). Unless they like having champion that no one knows or cares about outside of Poland.

Unfortunately for him, his options are to either look to fight abroad to defend his title against the bigger names in the division, (I agree - not many of those still in the cruisers), or to fight bums in Poland until the WBC force a mandatory fight on him. The cruisers seem to be the division that boxing forgot, with most quality fighters going up to heavyweight where the real money is to be made.

In terms of the division as a whole, I think a good boxer should be able to unify that division, as Huck leaves plenty of opportunities to be caught, Danny Green is 20lbs lighter than most cruisers and two of the other belts are vacant. Bring on the next big hope for the division, wherever he may be found.

Last I heard, the winner of this match had to defend against Herbie Hide.

After Krzysztof beats Hide, I would like to see him face BJ Flores or Danny Green. A third fight with Cunningham would be ideal but unlikely IMO since Steve signed with Sauerland. If Cunningham wins the IBF strap against Ross, Sauerland will likely give him a few defenses until one of his other fighters (Huck, Frenkel, Hernandez) can dethrone him. Most likely a rematch with Huck if he's still around...he's gotta face the winner of Lebedev-Alexeev...and both have the ability to beat him.

Hide's cut in Prizefighter a few weeks ago was really nasty, it wouldn't surprise me if it's another few months recovery for him, so I imagine Wlodarczyk will have time for a voluntary defence if he wants one.
