I've only ever seen Thompson fight Wlad so maybe Im being a bit harsh, but for him to Say Audley has the physical tools but not the mental game was a bit rich IMO. Pot and Kettle?
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

Memphis Tony Thompson is very good, the only knock against him is that he doesn't have any power. He did a number on Domonick Guinn, he beat Timur Ibragimov failry easy, he has stopped Luan Krasniqi, Chaz Witherspoon, and Owen Beck. Too bad Thompson was just a sparring partner, he's hands down the best heavyweight a certain title holder has set foot in the ring with. Thompson is far and away better than Harrison because although Thompson lacks big 1 punch power, he's busy, he has great defense, and he's always using the jab and controlling distance. As for the mental part, look who he was up against when he was having trouble and eventually got KO'd and he still did relatively well.

There were talks right after Thompson's loss that he'd fight Arreola as he too was just coming off of a loss. IMO it would have been a bad move for Cris as Tony is the perfect fighter to trouble him.

He had a tough time when he got a chance to step up his class of opponents but he was fighting THE BEST heavyweight out there. He still fought hard although the way his corner talked to him you'd assume he was being forced back into the ring at the end of every round, but in all honesty he did a very good job. Tony Thompson is a top 10 heavyweight, he just won't get many opportunities to get big fights because he's awkward, his style isn't crowd pleasing, and he's a 6'6 southpaw with solid defense a good chin, and a very good jab.

Thompson is a good fighter he could beat any number of highly rated heavyweights and I'd have to favor him over anyone who doesn't hold a title.

I just think this is going to be an easy win for him on November 13
I don't think Thompson is saying anything unreasonable in this article.

Thompson was outmatched and underpowered throughout the fight, but it wasn't from a lack of effort or focus, Wlad was just the better man. He still holds the record for most punches landed on Wlad, that's got to count for something.

Totally agree, Thompson has been Wlads best opponent possibly ever! Byrd and Sanders may have an argument but I don't think anyone else would!
