Default Probably Manny Pacquiao's Most Underrated Win

Is against Chatchai Sasakul, i was going through Manny Pacquiai's career again. And i was just watching this one again, and realized how much of an underrated win this was. Considering Chatchai Sasakul had just dethroned Yuri Arbachakov who was a very talented fighter, and also a top 10 P4P fighter.

Manny was lucky to win this fight. He was being schooled for a good six rounds or so but Manny Pacquiao persevered and got the win through combined grit and luck!. Determination from a young and hungry Manny Pacquiao at that time, more than made up for his lack of skill and experience.

    ***** ***** ***** ****** *****

(An excerpt from a 2006 Q&A from Scott Mallon of The Sweet Science went...)

TSS: You’ve fought in both boxing and Muay Thai and fought more than 150 times. Who would you rate as the best puncher you’ve faced?

Chatchai Sasakul: Manny Pacquiao!!! One good punch from him and I was out. He has very heavy hands.

TSS: What happened in that fight? You were schooling him until you got caught with a few good shots.

Chatchai Sasakul: I lost my focus I guess and he took advantage of it. I don’t remember much about that fight (laughing)! Actually, I trained for ten days for the Pacquiao fight. Normally I train two months for a fight. I was having problems with my girlfriend and we were in the middle of a break-up. I let it affect my training. But Pacquaio is a very, very good fighter. He was quick and very strong.

References to his clash with Yuri from the Mallon Q&A, is worth the time reading. Chatchai was a very accomplished boxer inside the ring, and a very nice character outside of it. Slick as can be but... one hesitates to draw comparison with the level of slick from the Hopkin's type, but slick nevertheless.

Did not know this, very impressive and certainly underrated, Yuri was a excellent fighter.

Sasakul was boxing Pac's ears off all night until Manny landed an uppercut that buckles Sasakul. A few seconds later Sasakul visibly shaken wasnt able to avoid a massive left that connects to his jaw. He tried to get up but his body wont let him.

This win is better than Ledwabba and Diaz title fights.
