I'm really looking forward to this fight, didn't know it was on HBO, thought this would be a Showtime card for sure.

I'm looking forward to Donaire having to prove himself at last. I've long been on his case because of his ridiculously elevated PP4 rankings but I will give him respect if he wins this fight.

He is a lot bigger than Montiel naturally I think and should be fighting a couple weight classes higher than he is, but it would still be a big win.

If the undercard to this was better I would not have hesitated to buy a ticket but thus far all they have is JSK vs. Jones II. Not really worth the 250 it's self taking into consideration it's Vegas and I would waste gas need a hotel and all that.
Was really hoping this fight would get made here in LA.
Gonna be patient stack my chips nice and neat and hope PBF vs. Pac get's made in 2011 and god willing I'll be there.

As for the fight... Rooting for Montiel and I pulling for him.
I'm on the same boat as a handful of you. Really liked Nonito especially after sparking Vic the fuck out but with the hiatus he took and the opponents like Maldonado, MathhleWhatever the fuck his name is he just didn't follow up with much.

I think Nonito wins the early rounds but I can see Montiel adjusting.
Montiel needs to box early and then go in for the kill once he has figured things out.
We should also note that Nonito can switch stands so if one thing is not working out he can always switch it up...
We have been waiting for this fight for sometime now. It's about damn time.
I've lost interest in seeing Vic lose. He's yesterdays news...

i doubt he'll try the switch hitter shit with Montiel though, he was doing that when he fought here in PR against a smaller dude and he was getting tagged plenty, he can get away with it with bums but Montiel would spark him with a brutal right followed up with the left hook

This is a under the radar mega fight. See Montiel getting under Donaire and cleaning his clock with left hooks after some good exchanges. Nonitos feasting on tepid opponents will come back to bite him with a guy who doesn't just fall over and except his roll as foil the minute you yell BOO.
