Default Joseph Agbeko vs Yonnhy Perez 2...........

Just caught up on this one, i was very impressed with Joseph Agbeko, he fought a smart fight. Staying elusive with his in and out movement. The Bantamweight division is amazing at the moment some great fights to be made.

Think Agbeko is one of the more improved boxers over last year or so. From face first battle with Luis Perez and tough ugly 12 round tune up to suprising displine and smart boxing display vs Vic. He scraped and boxed witn Perez in first fight in a real foty canidate and in rematch really fought like a superior champ. Actually toying in spots and picking shots while walking Perez into more and more. He has made strides in game, Endurance is tops as is chin and output with nice mix of brawl vs boxing. I think he beats Mares right now in a solid battle, is one step ahead in high level experience and deep versatility.

i was rooting for yonnhy perez cause i'm a big fan of his but joseph agbeko definitely won their rematch handily. the thing about agbeko is this, he's so rangy, takes a great punch, has great handspeed, has a great chin and has overall very impressive boxing skills.

in order for mares to beat him he's going to have to slow him down by going to the body early and often. if he doesn't do that, agbeko is going to beat him by close decision. this fight is so dangerous for mares because agbeko seems to never get tired, has a little better hand speed than mares. i'm going to definitely be rooting for abner mares but right now, i see agbeko defeating him by close decision.

the vic darchinyan/yonnhy perez fight is going to be another great matchup. vic is a great, great fighter and warrior and i think he definitely has a chance to win but i'm going to go with perez cause he is a very technical boxer who's height and reach could give darchinyan problems. i can't imagine anybody getting KO'd in this fight but i've got to go with perez by SD. two of the three losses for darchinyan have been against taller, rangier fighters and i think perez will outpoint him in a very close fight. having said that, i would never count darchinyan out. this guy is a future hall of famer and deserves alot of respect in and out of the ring.

I think Mares and Perez are pretty damn even, if Agbeko keeps that output vs Abner, it's gonna be a long night for Abner. I do think Mares will bring the fight more than Perez was able to, its gonna be a great fight. They really should have made this an eight deep tourney, single elimination. They could have put Donaire, Montiel,Moreno, and either Morel or Kameda. Then you would have no question who is the best bantam.
