If you aren't sure, questioning why, maybe need some motivation...how about this?

It is the most badass sport on the planet to play! Don't believe me? Ask the experts:

I dont agree with there findings on a lot of it. Match Fishing is hard work make no mistake. A six hour match is a struggle, its hard work the top lads are all fit.

lol I dug this up because I was looking for another sport to join that might have some crossover benefits. And considering the silly name of it's main projectile...thought I should look it up to see how wussified it's rating was after joining a local...badminton team.

    Badmintons a fun sport man..

but as far as these findings go, i dont know how scientific their studies really were. I also wonder why they left out mma, I'd be interested to see which sport is actually more demanding to the body and mind.

I've heard all of 'subjective' opinions on that, but never really any facts.

I always thoguth tennis would be good for cross-training - lots of running in different directions, fast sprints, good pivot etc happening ......

Just a pity you can't play with two rackets or it'd be perfect boxing cross training !

Maybe something like tennis with two table tennis bats instead of a tennis racket would work ........

haha yea, i like tennis, and suck equally as hard at it. Was looking for something to do for winter as it's currently -15C out there, and the tennis courts long since frozen over. Squash or racket ball would be cool too. But I do I like badminton, played a bit in school so decided to go with that. The coach put me in against this 15 yr old 120 lb girl to see my skill set...and got my ass handed to me.

I'm sure I'd be pretty crap at it myself.

At least you're having fun though! More important to have fun with sport than people give it credit for i think.

Tennis players often hurt their knees and lower joints.
    More impact than you'd think

Yeah I hadn't really thought of that. Now you mention it i suspect outdoor court sports in cold areas are worse again because the court/ground will harden with the cold.

Hopefully badminton on in indoor court which would usually have sprung floorboards will be a lot safer. Plus a good warm up will hopefully prevent injuries from sudden changes in direction etc. I'm sure that 15 year old can teach you a few tricks Youngblood .

I wouldn't feel bad about that with her dad being the coach she's probably a child badminton prodegy!
