    Default Rampage vs Silva (Thiago)

Hey guys, its just been anounced Rampage Jackson is scheduled to fite Thiago Silva at UFC 30. Just wanna know what u guys think about this match-up, and who you think wins this one and how (decision, k.o, etc.).

I am little bit worried for Rampage in this match-up. Rampage as of late has looked as if he has lost his hunger and aggression for the fite game. He is nowhere near as intimidating as his "ring walk snarly face" fronts, not these days anyway.

In this match-up he finds himself against a hungry and aggresive Thiago Silva looking to get one step closer to a title shot.

I think Rampage's lack of hunger in his last two fights was due to his opponents. He couldn't come out swinging against Rashad, he'd be out on his ass right quick. He couldn't be overly aggressive versus Machida, he eats those guys alive. Rampage just had to be more tactical in those fights.

I think Silva's a good match up for Rampage. Thiago tends to have that "Brazillian stance" (chin sucking way the fuck up), he's just begging to get caught (like against Machida). I see a 2nd round (T)KO Rampage.

I think Thiago wins this big time. I agree that Rampage has looked lacking in hunger and I don't think it's just down to opposition, I think it's a mentality problem from what he says in some interviews. Thiago looked pissed off he'd been out for a year against Vera and he destroyed him. Thiago has alot of hunger at the moment and I think he might just take Jackson. Good fight though.

I want Rampage to win but Silva looked like a beast in the Vera fight it seems his back surgery means he can use all his skills. Rampage and take a shot and give one as can Silva so it will be a great fight. I hope Rampage comes ready. I wonder if the winner of the Bader vs Jones fight will face the winner of this then they get the title shot. I fancy Bader to take Jones and Silva.

I'm leaning towards Rampage pretty heavy. I think his standup is better than Silva. Outside of Silva landing a perfect big shot I think Page can use his technical boxing to frustrate Silva. Silva's takedowns looked really good against Vera but I am reluctant to believe he will have that kind of success with Page. All that a side if Page doesn't have a good camp and show up in top form Silva will either overwhelm him or win a decision similar to Rashad's.

Dude I agree with this completely. Man I love Rampage and would love to see him have 1 more title reign. I used to think he was 1 bad dude but these days and for this fite in particularly I actually fear he's guna get his head knocked off by a k.o punch, a head kick, or his weakness, the muay thai clinch and get k.o'd via a knee.

I do agree Rampage SHOULD have the stand up game to outbox Silva and SHOULD be able to stuff most of Silva's take down attemps (although I do beleive Silva will stand up with Rampage), but when I say "SHOULD" I'm talkin bout the old skool Rampage, not this hollywood Rampage. I mean the guy looked so flat against Rashad, and against Machida, though he looked willing, at the end of the fite he almost looked subdued to a loss decision and was surprised when anounced he had won.

From my understanding if Rampage wins, he gets a title shot, if Silva wins, he fite's the winner of Bader/Jones (which will be a barnburner). Also in the title shot picture is Couture should he get passed Machida. If Machida wins, I think he also slots in to fite winner of Bader/Jones. If Machida, and Silva both win, I have no idea who Dana and Joe Silva will put in the Octagon against the winner of Bader/Jones?! Maybe the Brazillian who wins more impressively?!?
