Pirog's camp responded and said if WBO permits fight, they'd do it. Pirog offered Smith a fight once more, but Smith with only three weeks time until the fight, turned it down.

This would say a lot about how good Pirog really is. Smith fought hard with Jacobs and Guerrero, so, if Pirog dominating him would be impressive.

good fight for Pirog, should be a good way to get him to the next level, wouldn't mind him against someone like Sylvester afterwards

Smith is gritty enough to last the distance but if he does it'll be a brutal affair either way

Smith frustrates me. He's technically a very good defensive fighter, but he just doesn't have an offensive output. He's durable though and in many of his close defeats he's finished the stronger fighter.

You get the feeling if he just upped his workrate he could have wins against some of those guys he lost to.

He should have beaten Powell and Julio imo and could have worn down Guerrero imo.

He'd lose to Pirog but I'm sure he would be competitive and probably win the last two rounds.
