I wouldn't. They may be shaped differently or weighted differently. Why not just use boxing gloves to make sure you are being fair to yourself and your opponent?
the only difference would most likely be weight or how the thumb is attached to the glove, and i think that is standard now days...
Ive had a pair of Twins for over 4 years now and theyre still spot on really theyve had some hammer and they havent give out or anything they feel just as full and padded as when i got them aswell, go for it mate i managed to get a pair for £35 quid on ebay for my mate and he loves them. Theyre no pair of reyes but im happy with them for the price hehe.
They really aren't shaped or weighted differently, the difference is mainly in the cuff. Muay Thai gloves tend to have shorter more flexible cuffs so that they can clinch effectively. I wouldn't see a problem with using them in a boxing gym.[/QUOTE]
That's true..no real difference except in flexibility if material..thai gloves are what I use as they have excellent padding over the knuckles for protection when sparring, the only difference is your hand is more flexible and you can open/close your fist easily with it inside the glove..mine are fairtex and provide very good protection around the wrist as well
Hi 1Magine, well I actually have a couple pairs of gloves, and thai boxing gloves are very similar to boxing gloves but are more flexiable in opening your hands as opposed to boxing gloves are... I like using ProForce kickboxing gloves sometimes when boxing because I feel I have more wrist and kuff support with those gloves... the reason why, the Proforce kickboxing gloves are more supportive is because they are designed to perform a "spin fist punch"... they are slightly more padded in the area when your hand would connect after throwing a spin fist punch. I've read some different threads on this site and I think there is a guy called "Mattty" who may have better knowledge for you glove question. Cruiser
