Default Chad Dawson: What lies ahead for him?

Chad Dawson got schooled, he got his ass handed to him by a smaller fighter with a beter game plan and better skills. I assume he's going to lay off for quitesome time and have some easy fights to put him back in a better frame of mind.

So what kind of fghter does he take on next? Will he change trainers again? And is this result proof that he has been ducking Tavoris Cloud?

Well he could rematch someone like that Adrian Diaconu I think it was.

He certainly has to be mentally shaken after being beaten to the point where he quit by a smaller man as you say.

I don't think he'll dump John Scully but who knows.

And Dawson losing to Ward has nothing to do with Cloud you bastard !

....doesn't it though? I mean Tavoris was there ready, willing, and able to fight Chad and Chad chose to go after Pascal, Diaconu, & Hopkins...tells me the only thing BAD about Chad is his chin.

I like Tavoris Cloud as he brings it like James Kirkland. He clearly lost to Campillo, but otherwise he has been impressive.

However, I do not believe Dawson is terrified of him or anything. And I don't know if its his chin, maybe his temple as Ward was dropping him with mostly temple shots.

I def don't think Dawson will take on a guy like Cloud for his comeback fight.

    I think Adrian diacanu retired.
Not much lies ahead of him. The blueprint was already set by froch, if Dawson was a rough fighter with high work rate he would be fine. Gotta be rough with ward and start early, hit him behind the head. This is why dirrell would lose, he is no different to Dawson.

Yes Dawson needs to start at the bottom and work his way up.

Not sure but he needs to be smart about it. I didn't like the way he was stoping cold on flat feet when Ward was catching him and I don't mark it up to "weight drain". Fact is a coasters mentality accompanined with being thumped convincingly round after round doesn't bode well to me. It's as clear as day his mindset isn't going to change. I say forget any mega fight in the immediate future and frankly if any fighter 'needs' a couple of non descript confidence builders, it's a Dawson right now. Take a couple and retool.

Dawson said in his post fight interview that he was going back to 175 and continue his reign. I hope he gets someone to help him mentally. I'm not offering excuses for Dawson, I don't think he could beat Ward no matter what his mental state, but he could have made it look like a fight if he just let his hands go. Ward is an amazing fighter, with the ability to make champion caliber fighters look like a lot less than they are, but not as easy as he did with Dawson!

You mean "the blueprint" to win three rounds when Ward has a broken hand?

All you lot giving Ward credit for beating Dawson, did you also give Pacquiao credit for beating De La Hoya?

So did De La Hoya...... Your point?

Both hadnt been anywhere near the weight for over 6 years, both made the weight and both put on uncharacteristic performaces during the fights and both quit rather than any decisive victory.

No, Oscar had to have an IV to rehydrate himself meaning he didn't make the weight "easy"
