Human being's, were are a strange bunch we abuse our body's, drink drug's, over eating etc I wonder
why we do it.! I'm a hyper-critic my self, paid the price for not looking after myself, we all seem
to carry on until we are, struck down, with illness. I often think why , I changed my life style now
and not before.

To change before you get sick or are in failing health is to admit to yourself that you will not live forever. You and everyone you've ever loved and everyone that has ever been alive will die....and that's a hard little pill of reality to swallow for most people.



Also if you are abusing drugs, alcohol, food, whatever you may not be able to see or understand the damage you are doing to yourself therefore you unknowingly hurt yourself until a doctor says "Stop that"

Adults can be like children, they need to be scared into stopping there bad habits, I was the same
overweight eating to much rubbish, ended up with type two diabetes.!
My own fault no one else's, should have, could have, but did bother no I just carried on, I'm lucky
I got my condition well under control.
I still have the occasional drink, and once a week a pudding normally on Sunday, and do you no
something I haven't felt so good in years.

I do not drink, take drugs, have late nights out in town, but I have abused my knees by playing too much football whilst they were injured. I do not regret it because it was fun at the time and i would do it all again.

For me when I was younger and far more sociable I always thought it was about being sociable and having a laugh, but I realise that I never had any fun. Everything I ever did was too much and too harsh. Not to others in any meaningful way, but certainly to the self. I've never taken any prisoners regarding me. There are no Geneva Conventions there. I did it for a variety of reasons and on the whole you have to put yourself through things and if you come through then fine and if you don't, then perhaps like YB suggests, you got what was coming to you.
