Dokes and his corner were very upset and even Jim Lampley said it was fast. But when you have a guy wobbling around taking flush bomb after bomb, where do you draw the line?

    No.

I once saw a referee slap a boxer in the face when he stopped a fight. I thought that was what was going to be shown in this thread. That was the only time I would have wanted the boxer to punch the ref and knock him out. Otherwise referee have a very hard job and they do stop fights quicker than they use to which is the safer option but not necessary the right decision. The Ward beating Gatti would have been stopped now but it ended up a classic fight because it carried on.

I remember Bowe announcing this one and with respects to the late Dokes, RIP, this one should have been stopped at "and in this corner..." Dokes was basically done after that very first inside left hook off the temple

nowwww this on the other hand ....

Spicoli that was the battle of the Afro.

Dokes put on a brilliant effort against Holyfield.

Agreed! One of my all time favs. He did well to scrap back to the top in what was really his last top go vs Evander.
