    Default Mayweather vs Guerrero Offical

    [URL="http://proboxing-fans.com/breaking-news-floyd-mayweather-signs-deal-with-showtime-ppv-first-fight-will-be-against-robert-guerrero_021913[/URL]

And on Showtime ?! On he's Twitter he said 6 fights in 30 months ? Im guessing this means 3 fights a year ? Showtime , Dan Rafael and Floyd are tweeting about it. Your thoughts ? I think Robert is a good opponent.

Sorry if the link doesn't show I'm on my phone .

Don't have much interest in this fight to be honest. Easy win for Floyd. Much more interested in the undercard Canelo v Trout could be a good close fight and Broner too lined up so will be good to see who he fights

IT'S MONEY TIME: FLOYD MAYWEATHER FIGHTING ON SHOWTIME PAY-PER-VIEW || FIGHTHYPE

there's a better link. I think its an interesting match and its a nice set up with the winner of Canelo vs Trout facing Mayweather in September

I'll be very very surprised if Mayweather fights 6 times in such a short space of time. Just because he has signed a contract doesn't mean anything.

I always said if Mayweather had been busier throughout his career he could have been considered GOAT long before now. Whatever, i just want to see him fight.

It's going to be interesting, we don't know how it 's all going to work out, but Floyd will be more active.
I'm almost as interested in seeing if they make an attempt at six fights in 30 months as I am at seeing Floyd fight more often.

I think Guerrero will rough up Floyd, as he did with Berto for 6 rounds and tire and lose a decision, but it will be fun and uncomfortable for Floyd.

I hope Guerrero doesn't fight dirty, it could be a short night for him. Floyd likes the challenge oh taking guys apart in the ring, which he always does, but when they fight dirty Floyd gets mean. Ask Ortiz.

Boo... Would rather see A)Martinez B)Pacquiao C)Canelo D)Bradley any of those fucking fights before this for Mayweather... also would like to see Guerrero fight Broner that be awesome... lol Both of them said they wanted to fight each other at a catch weight but I think Broner didn't mean it.

Cant agree and have no issues with this fight off the heals of yet another Mayweather hiatus. Guerrero has arguably done more at 147 then anyone else in the division over this past year. Shades of Duran and Mosley.

Major difference for a man to go from 147 to 160. Ten fold if you are a natural welter like Floyd who probably walks around at fight night weight. I'd wager the same as Guerrero.

Kind of pitiful to me that now Floyd is expected to beat up guys that are around 170 pounds on fight night in order to prove himself. Martinez is a small middle and he's over a buck 70 on fight night.

Bradley could not draw cockroaches to an end of the world party and Manny is a dead issue. Meaningless really.

'Robert has two fights at 146 that's it.. Sure the Berto win was impressive but hardly anything special to merit fighting the p4p king after being two fights removed from 134 IMO. I always thought Berto was overrated and I called Ortiz stopping him. Like I said Canelo would be a much better and fair fight. Canelo as we now know is fighting Trout but the option was there '

So only Floyd can bully around smaller guys like Marquez and Hatton by making them come up and still comes over the limit but he can't go up and fight Martinez at a catch weight? ... The same Martinez that fought a guy that came in at light heavyweight in Chavez Jr? .... Recently Chad Dawson came down and fought Andre Ward.. The man lost but in the end of the day two top dogs went at it and we saw a fight that was interesting. Mayweather and Martinez are top p4p dudes and idk how that doesnt make sense to a boxing fan.

True about Bradley not drawing people but honestly I could care less as a boxing fan that's a fight I'd like to see. Once again Floyd was talking about fighting Alexander which IMO would be a far less competitive fight and ... really dude Floyd Mayweather is the cash cow he could fight Lampley and that fight would sell lol.

About Pacquiao you have a point there but come on that fight would sell still and sell huge.. Styles make fights and him losing to Marquez in a fight that Pacquiao was doing fairly well should not matter. In reality I think Floyd Knocks Pac out but I always said that. Still think it be a interesting fight to see and would be pretty competitive as long as it goes. JUST MY OPINION though.

Floyd has hardly made a career out of bullying smaller men, that's quite an absurd comment really. Marquez(who happens to have looked pretty effective at 147 against Manny) is the only opponent he's fought in eons that he had a functional size or weight advantage over. Hatton is in no way a smaller man than Floyd, he is just built differently and probably wasn't quiiite as effective at welter. Big deal. Floyd is the biggest draw in boxing and those guys desperately wanted to move up and fight him. As Iaminuit aptly posted, there is a HUGE different between moving up 5 or 10 pounds when you are starting out shy of 140, than there is going to middleweight having already risen through those weights gradually, over many years!

People want to see Floyd fight Martinez or Canelo etcbecause they are about the only guys who have any kind of chance to beat him, I get that and would like to see the fights as well. The problem is, the ONLY reason those fights are lucrative is because of the size difference, at what point does it become a sideshow? Floyd is getting up there in years, and started his career fighting at 130 pounds. The fact that he is even being accused of ducking guys who are naturally so much bigger speaks for itself.

But with those 2 fights at 147 jumping from 135 he did more then all the established welterweights over the past year. Nobody in the division even wanted to fight Aydin and he made him his first fight at the weight. Mosley never fought near the competition in his two fights before Oscar.

Floyd stated publicly after the fight with Cotto that he wanted to return to 147 and lets be honest here. Even if Floyd decided to hang around 154 Oscar was not about to offer his golden child up to Floyd on a Mexican holiday.

Oh and Trout called the Alvarez eternal bluff by beating the worn out man they hoped to face.

Hatton fought at 140 but could have easily fought at 147 and the size thing in relationship to him is a myth. Cortez had more to do with the outcome of that fight then weight. Sure Marquez was smaller and Floyd agreed to 144 but also agreed to the fine per pound and this was not a title fight. Floyd has never asked a champ to step down for him and nor would he to get the Martinez fight. Speaking of bullying opponents has Alvarez even fought one legitimate 154 pound fighter?

The Alexander fight was a smoke screen. Those two are like Bowe and Tyson and anybody who thinks they would actually fight is foolish. Bradley needs to figure out what division he's fighting in and the fight is a wash and serves no purpose at all. Floyd can get the same pay day fighting the theatre janitor in Grand Rapids. Why would he bother with Arum over Bradley?

The luster is gone my friend. The magic has vanished. A 100 million dollar fight has turned into an act in a play. Its a meaningless scrap. Styles do make fights. That is the reason the fight was never made.
Floyd is expected now to fight middleweights or he's ducking lol. Yet all these big 140 superstar fighters that easily make 147 and are bigger then he is don't move up. All of these fighters under the GB banner.

January 6 2014 headline. Floyd Mayweather ducking Andre Ward.

No one is saying Floyd is ducking bigger men. Floyd himself was the one talking about fighting Canelo so why are you getting your panties in a bunch? I still think the guerrero fight is shit but whatever if you guys think a dude coming up in weight two fights removed and getting a UD over the very limited and overhyped Berto is the right Fighter for the P4P king then so be it.

Whilst I agree Guererro would not be my first choice for Floyd, the only way he will win is to fight dirty and rough. He is not like Ortiz and try to hug Floyd.
