Yes we all know Ali may not have been the greatest technical fighter and had some flaws but you dissect any fighter you will find some limitations. Ali's record however speaks for itself.

ALI GOT THE JOB DONE. I will give him that. Using his kidneys and spleen and appendix as a human heavy bag from 1972 and beyond, ..... his last great fight was in 1971 against Joe Frazier in losing, oddly. Muhammad Ali was totally finished after March 8, 1971. And so was Joe Frazier.

His victory over George Foreman was just a case of styles, luckily for ali, Foreman was a young dumb dolt who 1-dimensionally did the same exact thing for 8 rounds. Grabbing Foreman behind the neck and pulling him in for 8 rounds, taking hundreds of body shots to the kidneys from Big George, whilst laying asininely on the pretty loose ropes and taking those shots----what a way to win, huh? His left kidney was contused and hemmhorragin for 3 weeks after that fight, and his spleen was swollen, and he pissed blood for 2 weeks. Is that a victory?

He also lost all 3 fights to Norton, and I believe Shavers outpointed him. How Doug Jones didnt get the win I dont know.

Also they point to his classic performance against Cleveland Williams.

Cleveland Williams had been shot at point blank range 4 times in the abdomen LESS THAN 12 MONTHS BEFORE his fight with Clay. He nearly died on the operating table and lost something like 20 pints of blood.
