Trinidad vs Mosley

So Trindad decides to come out of retirement and drop down to 154 where he belonged, Mosley decides to take a tune up match against Wright and the rest was history, had he beat Wright how would you see a Trinidad fight going.

Mosley sucks at 154 combined with the fact that he doent have the highest boxing IQ, I know he would try to slug it out with tito.

Mosley would survive a couple of rough spots to take a clear UD win. Trinidad would have problems with Mosley's superior speed. I can't see Mosley stopping him. But I can see him dropping him a couple of times

Tito was brutal at light middle but after coming out of retirement he was poor so it would have been a closer fight. Think Tito wins.

I've had trouble with this match up for years. One day I'll take Shane and the next Tito. Shane could win it on points or get ko'd ahead on the score cards. With all of Shanes gifts he sure got punched a lot and he liked to trade. He had a great chin and was confident with it but he never stood in the pocket and took one to land one with Tito.

Shane didn't even engage in the Pac fight, and Alvarez is not even in the same league as Tito.

I think Mosley's handspeed might have done Tito. I could go either way with this one though.

Tito Trinidad all the way. Tito is 5'11, Shane is 5'8/5'9, the fighters that beat Shane were tall, utilized distance well, and had good jabs much like Tito (Oscar could have and should have beaten Shane). At the time Shane fought Winky he wasn't moving his head as well, his upper body was stiff, and his combination punching wasn't as effective. Plus at 154 Shane just wasn't as good of a fighter as he was at 135-147...what made Shane successful there didn't work as well at 154.

If Tito was going to get handled by someone at 154 in a comeback it would have been De la Hoya II because he would have outboxed him for 12 and maybe gone for a late stoppage instead of coasting like he did in the first fight.


No disrespect to Shane though, great fighter.....greater at 135 than anywhere else, but still great fighter.

The time frame you give makes the fight irrelevant. In my opinion, Mosley was finished shortly after he moved up to welterweight, even though, in years, he should have been at his peak. At lightweight, he enjoyed a substantial size advantage over his opponents, and he fought like a real fighter. He moved well, punched on his moves, was fearless.At welter he was much more cautious, especially after the Forrest fights. After that, if not for some time before, he was nothing special. Just a fast guy, took a good punch. His fight, the first one, with Oscar was horrible. They fight like two guys afraid to fight somebody that might fight back instead of like two guys wanting to be considered 'great'.
Trinidad was really something in his early run at WW, then he got left hook happy and became nothing special. just a guy with a good left hook. His fight with DLH was horrible; one guy was scared, the other guy didn't know.
So the window for this to be a worthwhile bout has to be when trinidad was rolling over the welterweights and Shane had just moved up. And I think trinidad beats him. He had a jab and a right hand then, and he hit harder and was better than Vernon Forrest.

Well first off Mosley did not make his WW debut until a week after Trinidad beat De La Hoya and decided he could no longer make weight and moved up, Mosley didn't make his JMW debut until 2003 when Tito was retired, so I am not sure when you guys expected them to fight ?

Had Shane won his warm up match the fight with Tito would have happened summer of 04.
