    Default Heavyweight fights!

After Overeem got KO'd by Bigfoot it had me thinking who is next in line to challenge Cain.

Mark Hunt (3 fight win streak) vs Stefan Struve (4 fight win streak) expected for UFC on Fuel 8
The winner of this fight makes sense to face Cain in my opinion.

    Overeem vs JDS
If JDS wins he would more than likely get a rubber match with Cain.

    Mir vs Cormier
If Cormier wins I think he will drop down to 205lb and ask for a title shot. I don't see him taking a fight with Cain.

    Nelson vs Kongo
Nelson is on a 2 fight win streak if he can get it to three he will be up there in the mix. If Kongo wins he needs another 2 wins.

    Werdum vs Nogueira
Werdum has a 2 fight win streak if he can beat Nog he will be in the mix.

Silva I have no idea what is next for him. I guess they could give him JDS for the number 1 contender spot but right now it seem's pointless considering how Cain beat him.

Who do you guy's think is next in line and what fights should happen?

I think if Werdum beats Big Nog he will get the next title shot. Reem/JDS makes sense and if JDS were to win convincingly I could see a rubber match set up. Even if Reem were to win I think they would want him to get another signature win before a title shot. Hunt/Struve/Nelso/Congo are still a win in their respective matches and then at least another meaningful victory before they even sniff a title fight. Silva is kind of the odd man out at the moment. Gonzaga won recently and when is Carwin going to get back in the ring? Either of those guys would be a decent fight to keep Silva active and moving towards a title fight. I hope UFC brings in Barnett and even Khartinov to add some more competition.

I believe they are working on getting Barnett in the UFC. Don't you think if Struve beats Hunt he deserves a title shot? That will give him a 5 fight win streak beating guy's like Barry, Herman, Johnson, Miocic and Hunt if he wins of course. They are tough fights.

It is hard to ignore Struve's win streak but then you have his losses to JDS, Big Country and Browne. I think even with a big win over Hunt he is still a win over a top 5 guy away before Dana is willing to give him a shot.

Right now I think Cormier or Werdum are the top contenders. As Cormier won't fight, it has to be Fabricio for me. JDS should have to win again before getting a rematch. The loss was too convincing, and Cain had to do the same when he lost.

Personally, I won't be happy until Cormier fights Cain or whoever the champ is.

I'm telling you Cormier will never fight Cain. After Mir he will drop to 205lb.

Won't believe that until it happens. He beat Barnett, Bigfoot and if he beats Mir why would he go to 205? Jones is at 205, waiting with open arms.
Everyone is complaining about the lack of quality opponents at heavyweight, plus 205 is a much more competitive environment in my opinion.

Because he said he would. They also both said they wouldn't fight each other and on top of all that Cormier has been told he will get a title shot at 205lb.

Dana white just said this is going to happen. Another easy fight for Cain.

I guess this sort of fight can be awesome because its a way to see what goes with your power and all because that is what we need.
